Actually, they just use the same texture files.

Not the same .mat files, but the textures within both or_ships.mat and li_playerships.mat are indentical.

The models are quite different. However, you have to remember that the Order 'liberated' most of their ships from the Liberty Navy (or had them donated, in the case of Walker and the Osiris), so you should explect a similar design scheme at the very least.

It's quite possible that in the years that followed FL, the Liberty Navy started using the Osiris as a mainstream fighter, as it most likely came from Liberty Navy R&D Defectors.

Considering where the Osiris came from, and how the Order got founded, Similar designs are a given. Though there are major differences in the design-it's a closer match to Juni's Defender, and even then, certain things remain different(Liberty fighters are made to resemble birds, more specifically eagles, while the Anubis is most certainly not intended to look like a bird).

On the first SP mission when you engage the Order fighters, I scanned one and it said I seemed to be made from the parts of various ships across the sector.

about the resemblence to the Defender's Build, remember, in the infocard, it said it was built from the ground up, but thee could have been visualstuff, since they propably yoinked a defender upgrade experiment with the osiris.

The Anubis was built combining designs from all four houses. So it is a given that it will have some design features of the Dragon, Crusader, Valkyrie, and obviously, the defender.

Nah, it is an Anubis, it's just that it only has 2 guns and 2 missile launchers with an 800 hp shield... And they never shoot at you. Fun times.

I agree,they not fire on you because a starflier can't blown a Anubis.

I hate anubis thou. That's why Ive beaten the game with a hawk for the first time.
