Hey catscratcher, you beat the SP with a light fighter? I would be curious to know how many times you had to reload the final missions. This is not a slam on you as I am curious as I had suggested a long time ago for people to revisit the game using either a freighter or a LF to do the whole SP campaign in.
I think either Hairfarmer and a couple of others, also finished the game using the freighter scenerio as I did using the Drom. But I am currently using the Bloodhound and I am in Leeds and looking for a liitle more firepower to survive the rest of the missions in.
I had suggested that either the Drake or the Hawk could be used the rest of the way home in the SP game without resorting to the Anubis VHF (why do they call it that anyway? More like a HF at best!). Just curious about how it was for you using the class of ship you chose on the final leg of the journey.
Just some thoughts from the edge of space!

The Order Ship=Anubis
Nope, just got this off that new FreelancerMiscDataBase.zip download today:
237041 "Anubis"
237042 "Order Ship"
Just an FYI:
Everything lists Anubis as a VHF, but when I was @ a freeport , in the shipyard
the Eagle had a 'Very Heavy Fighter' label but the Anubis only 'Heavy Fighter'.
(Oops, before anyone is confused: I was selling Anubis, NOT buying it there.)
Also, Why is the Level 28 Centurion a HF and the level 26 Hammerhead a VHF?
To me, if you can't mount class 10 guns, you're no VHF...

Why do you guys actually think that this is signifigant? The anubis can kick the ass off the Defender any day, and as such, what with all its differing specs and stuff, is a different fighter.
And btw, I managed to complete the whole game only saving when I had to stop, and thus did the whole damn thing without saving. It's a lot more realistic that way.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people. So do monkeys (when they have a gun).

Death's Hand 1 is superior to Justice 1.
And yes, the mission 1 Anubis is a different ship than the one you eventually fly. It has its own entry in Shiparch.ini and everything.
Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless
