Cruise Disrupters: The Bane Of My Life

all the class 10's are the bigger, badder vehicle. That means as in if you're flying a weeny little startracker, don't go picking fights with things like class 10s.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

An quick word on prevention. If you are in cruise, always make sure that your scanner is set for ships that way you can spot the bastages as they close on you. As soon as you see them closing on you, switch to mouse flight and just turn on a 45 degree angle from them. The angle and speed will make it almost impossible to intercept. Wave bye bye as they drop off your scanners.

Also, if you kwow that they are near while in cruise listen for the shot or the incoming missle and keep a finger on the C button. drop two counter measuares in quick succession. {Hey two c meausures are alot cheaper the batts, nanos, hull, ECT}. For some reason two just work better especially againts the dreaded hornet missle.

If you do get disrupted the power slide maneuver that runs through this thread works best of all. However, if you are near a tradelane. Jinking across space and performing a combat dock will get you out of trouble faster then trying to go into cruise. You can always use the ESC key to bail out of the trade lane once you are safely away from those that would mangle you.

Well, I usually just press the C button until I get the thing of my ass, or get disrupted in which case I use my Titan to turn my enemies into tiny molecular-size particles. Unless in Outcast territory of course. Then I use my afterburners and continue to fly until they can't see me.
All AI-ships have thrusters with 165 burn rate and if you have one with less you should get away.

The original post never did say what ship he was flying in, no matter all of us no matter what level we are at have been disrupted on our way to somewhere.

I agree with the AI deal you would think they would not attack any vessle with weapons and sheild levels so much higher than theirs that they are sure to get the snot knocked out of them. Some of them do come in droves though and they must be thinking we can take him by numbers alone. Yea right!

Have you noticed that if you join a formation and patrol with other ships, you don't seem to get as many cruise disruptors fired at you. They seem to be more of the regular weapons and somtimes you get higher class ships that come around for you to pick the carcass of and level up your weapons. I was doing this on the first time I played SP and have done it again to get a better grade for my Drom during the second coming.

I do agree with the original post part of this though, those cruise disruptors are a pain when you've got somewhere to be. Made me late for an important date more than once, I hate watching money disapear from the cargo bay while being held up by bandits with a load of perishable goods.

Just some thoughts from the edge of space!

I was flying a Dagger, or a Clydesdale, or a Barracuda. It didn't seem to matter what class of ship I was in, the disuption always happened especially when comming out of jump gates/holes.

I usually get hit either on the way to a gate/lane...and it's irritating...Especially in my Titan (Said it before, and I will say it again...I just like the Tank effect) when it's a Lane hacker in a low level ship that can't hurt my shields.

Really annoying when I am escorting a low level player...and I get disrupted....Makes me go on a killing spree.

If we could interact with them while flying...

Me: "Dammit...Disrupted" Opens Channel, "YOU DIE...GO FOR EYES, BOO, GO FOR THE EYES!!!! RAUGGHHH!!!!!!!!!"
Hacker: "Ooops. I think I mad......" BOOM!!!!!!!!
Me: "Hehehehe."

One thing that can help you out is to activate your countermeasure dropper in your weapons list in the lower right corner. If its active it will automatically drop countermeasures when needed. Disrupters can still get through if the enemy is RIGHT behind you though. Also make sure to unselect it when you go to fight otherwise you'll drop a countermeasure every time you fire. This works best whenever you are already at cruise and you just want to flip the "ignore enemies" switch.

When I hear an incoming missile and I'm cruising, I immediately drop out of cruise, spin around, and kill them. It's like they've pasted a sign on their foreheads: Free hornet missiles - just for killing me!

"If it bleeds, we can kill it."
