Freelancer on Xbox. Sounds good in my opinion. controls wouldnt be that bad.

left stick-push forward/backward for foward/backward thrust push left/right to strafe.

Right stick- moves cursor/reticle. invert option

right trigger-fire guns

left trigger-fire missles

A-afterburner

B-slide mode

X-cruise drive

Y-switch between mouse flight and regular mode

D-pad-control docking and autopilot

push right sick in and activate cruise drive.

push left stick in and move it up and down to find targets.

This would just be the derfault setup hta could be edited. Also heres an analogie. Freelancer controls like an FPS, and alot of FPS games are converted tot the Xbox very succesfully. I think an Xbox live version of freelancer would be cool.

My only gripe with an X-Box port is that it, more than anything else, explains how this game went from the in-depth, dynamic, game originally planned, down to the shallow version we ended up with. Quite simply, the game we all waited so patiently for all these years was sacrificed for console game sales. Very sad. Tell me again why Chris Roberts left his own company and project after Microsoft got involved?

my thoughts exactly. If an xbox port is released, I would be very dissapointed(which is sort of wierd, since I like the game anyways, but it would be dissapointing to learn that it could have been something much better)

Point of fact how many people in here remeber mechwarrior mercenary? remeber the freedom of taking what ever mission you like? with the outcome of the game going to which ever faction you did your missions for? Now look at it after M$ got thier hands on MechWarrior, they release the mercenary2 called BlackJnight as an expanion, but they make you play a merc that can not pick there own missions from different factions within the story. Next thing you know it Mech4 become a console game. History repets it self, wait and see.

MW 4 itself is titled Vengeance. Black Knight promised no such thing, it was only an expansion pack. Then came out MW4 Mercenaries, a self-standing game with its own storyline. You needed Vengeance to play Black Knight, but you didn't need Vengeance to play Mercenaries. I don't have the game yet, but Mercenaries is way better than BK, according to everyone that plays it: with much more freedom.

are we talking about the same game? Merc come here after Mechwarrior2 and it sets a privateer style of play within the Mech2 time line, the claners coming to the core worlds. Merc Blacknight promised all that and more i have the retail box and i am looking at the ad for blacknight right now
qoute" You’re back on Kentares IV, and this time, you don’t have to play nice. Enlist in the notorious Black Knight Legion, climb aboard any one of five new ‘Mechs, and deliver some payback for all the injustices you’ve been dealt. Put your mercenary skills to the ultimate test in a world ravaged by civil war. Use the new Black Market feature to get the equipment and weapons you need, when you need it.
All-new ‘Mechs, vehicles, weapons, missions and more await each new recruit in MechWarrior® 4: Black Knight. Do you have what it takes to make it in the Black Knight Legion? Time to find out… " Need i to highlight the word "mercenary"
After this disenchanting encounter i no lonnger play MW games hence i missed the MW4 merc release, I can say one thing but if its handle by microsoft than i'm not missing much lol.

Apparently not. You are correct, there is a Mercenary EP for MW2. There is also a Mercenary EP for MW4, with the story set on Civil War. MW4 Mercenary EP came out AFTER Black Knight. This is the official site for MW4 Mercenaries.

This one is for Black Knight. They're two separate games.
