Oo, more bases (and especially any new systems) sounds good to me.
Only thing is, after a while, I think DataStorm will become more and more a necessity for some players. Well, I'll put it this way: Once we het so many bases with so many ships, exploring all thr bases looking for a particular ship might get a bit bothersome (to some players, anyway, who dislike exploring). But now that I think about it, I guess they can just DL DataStorm, then, huh :p ?
But, yes, I, for one, am all for new bases and systems. Just one more thing on that note - could we maybe keep away from MORE bases in NY (and most of Liberty); I think it has its full share of bases Maybe Bretonia (Edinburgh, Dublin), the Tau systems, - OH and the Independent systmes, like Kepler and empty-ole-Galileo. Those have hardly anything at all in them, so I wouldn't think they would get too crowded.
Superb job on the Upgrade, BTW, platman

Hey, MD, if you read this, Ithought I might give this suggestion you could perhaps try to put this in the next Rebalance version.
Maybe incorporate Warzog's AI mod?:
"While working on the Privateer/Wing Commander MOD- Privateer: The Reckoning v2.0, Warzog has improved the AI.
It occurred to him that it may be useful to others, and decided to release them as seperate mods.
Improved AI:
This mod makes Freelancer much more difficult to play.
It improves the aim and accuracy of all of the NPC characters.
It should work with most other mods with little or no problems.
Deathwish AI:
For those who find the Improved AI to easy, try this mod!
It's still beatable, but...
Shall we say...
A bit more trying?
It improves the aim, and accuracy of all of the NPC characters.
It should work with most other mods with little or no problems."
This one is available in hte LR DLs section - just Search for "Deathwish"
I just thought I'd maybe throw that up in the air for possible consideration. But then, I don't know how it would affect newbies' experience with the mod when they first start, so .. up to you.

Zephyr,
look at BS Suffolk, NLondon; and PLanet Earth, EA, for the Starfury. The Starfury "Vengeance" is at Williard, CA.
The regular Starfury has 6 weaopns, 25 nanos/bats, max lvl=6, and 1600 hull.
The Starfury Vengeance has a 4/1/1 config, 33 nanos/bats, max lvl= 7, and 2500 hull. You can choose which one you want

MD, I went to mars and the ships were: voyager, defiant and NCC 1701-A not NX-01!
are you sure nothing can be done about the glasses?
would it be possible to make the larger ships moor rather than atempt to dock? and can you make the ships that are big enough (damocles, Balistner) to be able to dock with them
btw is it just me or does the damocles look a little like the carrier from homeworld 2?
When did I realise I was god, well I was praying and I realised I was Talking to Myself

One request.... For the next version... change Trent's clothes. The current clothes are... nasty.
Also I think some of the weapons need a little balancing.
And I think you should reduce the amount of cargo space on the freighters because you can easily make a million credits on one run. This kind of detracts from the value of your ship. Anyhow just a suggestion.
One other thing, the Omega Destroyer from B5 has no textures for some reason...

smeghead, Dan already pointed out that the Enterprise is the NX01 (see his reply, 13th April).
freighter fighter, there is already a PlayType.bat batch file in the mod folder, I don't think you need to FLMM the OpenSP mod separately.
Perfecto what ships are you using that cause the crash, I've exited Sprague fine with plenty of the custom ships (Death Scythe, Longsword, Hydra corvette, etc). The mod version is 3.4 final with the two ship addons (see Rebalancemod website, download section).
The Hovis race is kinda iffy, I had to sell the Hydra because it's mass was too large and kept drifting widely each turn. On the other hand LFs and some HFs are very twitchy, that race takes as much luck as skill.
I guess having docking on again will be fine, cause I generally don't really like flying capships (I'm a hit-n-run kinda girl). Some time back I read that mooring required all the bases to have a mooring thingy added on, although things could've changed by now. If it's too tedious then fine, I can live with the current insta-dock setup.
Having more bases is okay, but my beef with this is that most of the infocards are screwed. Tried checking out the Earth Alliance planets lately? They all say Pittsburgh stuff, iirc. The new non-planet bases are the same, most of them say they're the Suffolk Battleship, or something. What's wrong? We don't have enough space for infocards? I agree with Ro9ue, we should try to populate the lesser travelled systems instead of just adding more. I'm not against new systems, I liked the Earth Alliance (good ol' planet Earth), but I find myself rarely travelling through Bretonia and Keppler for example.
Improved AI, I think you had a difficulty.bat that let the player choose "high, normal, low". Reading through it showed loadouts, weapons, etc. so basically high meant better armed NPCs but they were still not that smart I think it's a good idea to incorporate an AI setting also. I always play at High, and although that's nothing to sneeze at when you're a lowly Starblazer pilot you can still pretty much survive any random mission. I sometimes forget to save when I do those things, cause I always assume I can get back. Having more brutal enemies would definitely spice things up.
Edit: typo.

Provided that you have the Upgrade 2.1 installed/activated :p, Troy is accessible from Califonia, Texas, and the Minbari Empire systems.
In TX, go to the Bering JG @ bottom right of NavMap (at Houston, go on the right 'leg' of the Y formed by the diverging Tradelanes), and there'll be a JG to Troy at that end.
In CA, look about 8 to 10 km "below" (or south on NavMap) from CA Minor and Willard. It's a little below the system's eliptic plane, too - not exactly 'flat' or level with the rest of hte system.
And in Minbari, go pretty much straight "up" from the Planet in there. I mean UP this time, not north on NavMap, but literally above the planet. I can't remember how far exactly it is, but it's a good 15 to 30 km, i think.
Heh, with these new 3D systems, saying "Go up from ..." or "Go down from ..." no longer works or means hte same thing. Of course, 3D is nothing bad in my book
Troy should show up with DS if you've gothte Upgrade on. Try making sure you have DS v3.91 and Upgrade 2.1 - maybe that'll help ..? Troy shows up no problem on my DS.
