Great MOD.

problems -

Im using the anubis fighter, and with level 3 upgrades to shield and reecharge and i ffind the game to be far too easy. Mostly my shields are to strong, and the enemy fighters weapons dont seem to do damage.

the starwars ships are a pain in the ass to hit, and it really ditracts from realizism.

running german version, and on many stations when i try to bribe the name of the faction i am bribing for and the name of the factions that will dislike the bribe do not appear, all i see is the price of the bribe, but ive no idea who i am bribing to improve my standing..very annoying.

other than that i love this MOD...mostly i jjust wish combat was more difficult, enemies seem to suck, and the weapons, especially the venom / poison line are way to powerful, maybe if they used more energy?

Or, since they are MASS Drivers, maybe actual ammo, like the Sunfury, Barrager, etc. However, I personally like the cost effectiveness of the mass drivers. i use 'em pretty much all the time now, with one or two pulse weapons

Ashzz, you say your opponents arent hurting you, maybe thats because your not in the right place for the right opponents.. or maybe you should pvp more if its challenge you crave, cause I gaurantee that your ship as you described it would be quickly annihilated into space dust fighting most the players where I play (Two Geeks Rebalance). Oh and yes the SW ships are hard to hit, and YES it should STAY this way. They are very underpowered (besides the firesprays) for what they cost and thier very survival DEPENDS UPON being quick and agile in battle. Although the fact that they are hard to hit may be due to a glitch, it does not really affect realism at all. Besides the fans of SW ships would be out of luck if they were as easily destroyed, and I gaurantee theres more SW fans then there are that would like to see them further weakened. This means that you should just work on your aim some more so as to get a hit in more precisely in order to better yourself as a pilot. Think of this as a good training practice to try to hit those pesky ships.

All I keep hearing is about people thinking that some weapons are overpowered... and those of you that think that.. have obviously not visited EFA in early game stages. Nor have you tried to rob too many freighters or play the part of a pirate. The armor of ships has been changed you must remember that, and they use nanos and batts now. So tell me what happens when your flying a patriot and you see a Luxery food liner flying through Baltimore. Can you possibly let such a thing go easily? Ofcourse not if your a true pirate spirit! Oh but wait the transport would take a year to shoot down because the power of these weapons has been decreased by request of some newbs! Oh and crap! Here comes the Liberty police, Navy, and a dreadnaught! Given all the enemies you would have no chance of survival, escape, or success if you had to shoot at it for more than 30 seconds! Well, just an example, actually given the pilot skills, it would be very possible, but why should it have to be so difficult that it takes a complete pro just to rob one load of goods! It simply shouldn't be and the mass drivers are the perfect weapon to get a pirate started down his path. In all reality it doesnt matter, pirate or not, we all decide to kill a transport at some point if the cargo is worthy enough. On, a second note they don't dent shields to well as it is so the balance is perfect! No ammo is required, no downsize is required! Sorry if this point seems too 'pushy' it just hit my soft spot I geuss.

downloaded patches appearing on modmanager 10 in RED ....problem if i turn it on will it wipe everything..{just finished campaign. in omicron theta good ship 4mil credits sp} will i have to start again??????? LIKE THE MOD GOOD JOB PLAYING SINCE 3.12

death is the last great adventure.

Spearhead, they are supposed to show in red because they are supposed to overide (conflict with) the mod. Otherwise it wouldnt work. It shouldnt hurt you saved game files, but if your in SP and dont intend on using the dagger, well, really those patches are meant for MP not SP because the SP is already stable. It wont hurt but you dont have to use patch until you start playing MP online.

Hey, I know the genfix patch was supposed to fix EFA stability issues, but our server keeps crashing from what appears to be too many fleets fighting in the same place at the same time. And when I say "keeps crashing" I mean, some nights we're lucky to get 5 minutes of game time between crashes.

Post Fri Feb 27, 2004 12:32 am

Jeremy's post about the server crash is similar to mine.. but our players believe it to be because of a specific ship (perhaps a few ships of a certain size) that 'hit' a jump gate prior to jumping.. sometimes when exiting stations (or planets) they bump the gate.. everytime someone with a large ship does that, the server crashes.. uptime counter continues to count.. but all players are lagged out.

We all switches to small ships and the server ran stable the rest of the nite.

Hey I said tis earler but no ones replied to me.
Im not sure if this is a bug, or just a work in progress, but i just recently saved up and bought a Liviathan (from Mercury in the EFA system) and when i try to fly it in cockpit mode i get a view where i cant see any objects (ships, statins, planets, astroids, dust clouds ect.) and am not even sure if i am menovering the ship when i have mouse filght on and am moving the mouse from one side of the screen to the other

thanks in advance for any info bout tis matter

Also has anyone noticed the Fusion Injector Mk IV is better than the Mark V?

Post Fri Feb 27, 2004 6:43 am

L.O.K., umm you notice where the cockpit is on that ship? I mean graphically its located on the top middle not quite at the front. But, I imagine that there is no actual cockpit made into the design when it was transfered from milkshape (or w/e they used) to FL, or the cockpit is placed in a strange place or inside the ship even with no transparency made to see out. But seriously why the hell would someone try to fly a big Capship like that in cockpit mode? If I were making one, which I maybe soon, I know thats the last thing in the world I would worry about. I don't see your problem getting fixed anytime soon, but its not really a problem at all is what I am suggesting. Hope that can give you some help.

[IGCEornom, hmm.. thats strange because I have seen the very same thing, only I considered it to be coincidence. But yes, several times in my Leviathan it happens, as soon as I bumped one of those new created jumpgates (mostly related to EFA) it seems to crash or lag out even when they ping is still low. Could this be a mere coincidence, or a real problem? Hmm.. takes some thought and research for sure. Can such a thing be duplicated? Can you manipulate to crash in this way on demand? For experiments sake?

Father ofSnap, yea for real man, happens to us all. But theres nothing we can do now but either stay out of EFA, or wait for Rebalance 3.4. Patience is a virtue my man. Just dont run around asking when its realeased all the time (not directed at you Snap) because when its done youll know! He wont leave us hanging.. so people chill!

Wow - What a great mod...But I am too having issues hosting and playing due to bugs.

Another bug I found was the capital ship in Centauri System...It kicks ya out (like you are buying Niobium in EA system).

I want to say thanks for all the players who understand about the bugs and are so patient with them.

I also wnat to say thanks to the Creators for making this mod..Can't wait for version 3.4!

ChibiSphere->SW ships are not hard to hit, because their pilot is good (actually, , now they are mostly dumbs...), but because they don't have proper surface files, they are bugged. Without missiles they take age to shoot down. Onec i removed a Firespray's all weapons, CM, mine, shiled, maybe and a thruster, but it was still flying... (i think Asshz is in the SP campaign...)

Spearhed-> overwrite the files. I'm sure that you can found their correct place. Just unzip the .flmod (rename it to .zip if you don't have a file manager) and copy those files over the existing ones. In the game directory, and also in FLMM-s directory, and if you deactivate-activate the mod later, it will be patched.

Father OSnap, and other server owners: remove some, or reduce the chance of some encounters in EA. A few pages back MD told how to do it. (not difficult, just change a few numbers)

Loki-> the Balistner is huge, slow, and and biiiig. Probably the camera position couldn't be set outside the ship. Haven't flied it in 3.30, but it's realy a pain to fly. But also fun

EA is seriously bugged, so getter stay out of it, or reduce the number of encounters to minimal, and spend as few time there, as possible. Without opponents, battles, buying things EFA is stable, mostly. Two Damocleses pVp-ed there, andd took more than a half hour to finish it. Also, only some large battles in other systems ever crashed the server...

(think will start a faq topic...)

Lukr.. I am well aware of the surface files being 'bugged' and I did say that. I was merely saying that a good enough pilot shouldnt have too much trouble, you just have to aim so as to hit the center of the inside of the firesray. The only fix for thi as far as I know would be to recreate the ship entirely using the right 3d program (I only assume thats why they are 'bugged' because someone used the wrong formats in creating them or transfering them). I think I was mistaken because when I said they should stay that way I was more or less refering to the Tie fighters, but it seems as though the surfaces on the one I had were just fine, maybe the firespray is the only one that has this problem, and where that the case, then it should definetly be fixed because the firespray flown by BH in outer sectors does have impressive armor. Where as if the Tie fighters (with weak armor compared to high level ships) had this same glitch I would say leave it because they need all the advantages they can get if you want to keep using it all through the game. Although I have no problem with the firesprays, many others may indeed find it nearly impossible to shoot down without missles. On a side note, the crossbow torpedoes in this mod are high turn rate relatively speaking and with 2 shots you could take out an entire group of BH firesprays given you keep them grouped close together and make sure your far enough that you won't fall victim to your own attack. In other words this is an easy solution since any ship that would survive in the outer systems is more than likely equiped with one or more torpedo mounts. Just dont try shooting when your flying head on with a pack of ships, or you'll find yourself with most of your equipment blown off or even worse blown to pieces along with the enemies. These and all torpedos have a superior blast radius needless to say and even when you think your not very close you might find yourself suprised when your shields drop or when firing two or more at a time you could just blow up seemingly out of no where. I highly doubt anyone is going to fix this problem some of you have so these are just hints on adapting to succesfully take them down. As for the early on model firesprays, just use missles if you got em, or the mass drivers because they are good at taking out hull and fire fast so as soon as you find the center of the ship where they can be damaged, just dont loose it and they'll fall quickly after that. Hope these tips can help those of you that have issues with the firespray in battle!
