Here you can find news, get help and comment about the ?FL Rebalance Mod? for Freelancer

Darkstone/Chibi-> It can happen, although i only experienced once, and a special combination of dark starts required to crash the game. Or at least pick the wrong guns. Maybe the Javelin canons, as i remember, deactivated those, and everything was fine.

Ok, this mod is really great, I'm loving it. But I have two issues. One: I wish you didn't instantly dock at stations when you're near them, it takes away a lot of the atmosphere, and two: it keeps crashing back to desktop in both SP and MP. I really love this mod so much, but I can't play it at all because of the crashes. Is there some way to solve it?

I've had the same problem with random crashes. You get used to it eventually, just save often

I don't think it's one of those things I could get used to. It really ruins gameplay, you're flying around and suddenly you get into a massive fight, you think you're going to lose then a friendly patrol comes and you're just about to finish the hostile ships off. Whoops, it crashed back to desktop.

fish-> ghost docking ring, or whatever is required by the capships. And probably you've never been shot by PCs ort NPCs while docking at a station/planet/jumphole/jumpgate. Especially in Reb, where large groups of hostile ships can show up in every second.
Have you installed the SDK before activating Rebalance?

Darkstone: its hard to save in MP, if you are doing missions, and if somebody is having fun in EA, a server crashes more often.

What does SDK stand for?

::sigh::
yet one more example of people who come to these forums and have no compunctions about posting thier opinions and questions, but are too lazy to read previous posts. I can understand if it was a year old post, but FISH! Look at page 10! Its all been discussed in the last few days even! I am refering to your comment on docking distance and ghost dock. If thats your opinion then you can just post simply that you agree with him, yet you obviously didn't read first. Oh, well it happens everyday in every forum. Atleast it gives some of us something to complain about I geuss... SDK, I assume your refering to the list of decompressed ini files that are downloaded in the section marked "DOWNLOAD". You can read about it there if you are curious... it is in my opinion the greatest helper tool/resource for personal moding Freelancer and great for learning the basics as well. Once again, 90% of questions have already been answered, just a matter of looking for it rather than expecting everyone to do everything for you. After you search the site and search out the forums (there is a search engine for that here you know) for your answers, if no answers are found THEN post it in the appropriate section and there will be many kind souls that would be happy to readily meet your problems head on and return a solution post haste.

There's the EFA system added, with its Police, Thugs and Seperatist Forces. Question for MD, are the Centauri Republic, Nial Empire + Minbari Empire part of this mod? I have a suspicion they may have been "left over" from another mod on my computer.

Lots of new ships - don't know exactly how many though

think nial/centauri/minbari are meant to be there, only MD had so few time, and couldnt complete them. Think minbari system has a new base and a few trade lanes in 3.30.

Yes, as Chibi said, i refer to the downloadable ini-s called FL SDK. And if you read, the mod announcmet contains a link to it.

I'm loving this mod! Great refresh of single player enjoyment.

One suggestion: the money is really tight. Unfortunately I cannot enjoy any of the new ships and most of the new weaps due to funding, especially once Trent stops getting paid by Juni. I'll admit that the pilot salvages do make some money, but not nearly enough. Most of these new ships cost a fortune!

I suggest you either lower the price of some ships at key spots in the game (i.e. Leeds, Holman Outpost, Order base, etc. - where the action pauses) or change some of the missions to pay out more.

On the contrary, many ship prices need to be increased, or commodities 'cheat trades' should be ommited (namely the ones from EFA or using EFA as a shortcut). On MP everyone trades for like an hour or two and then has millions to do with as they please. Doesn't that seem a little too easy? The missions and what not seem balanced enough though. And this mod states very plainly that it is meant to make gameplay more complex and difficult. This has been a complaint of just a few people (too hard for them or money is to hard to get). I think there are many skilled players that would like a challenge though, and thats what new mods are meant for (that and the new experience ofcourse). I am sorry I must dissagree with you on this one mr. mikedan. What a strangley familiar sounding name!? lol

One mistake.

Michael, can You add hardpoint ???HpTurret_B03_03??? to Bretonia gunship? It is "right hand". NPC has large_forward_gun at this place.

Chibi, I admit that I never play Freelancer in multiplayer. I'm a pvp guy. So if the economy is cash-rich in multiplayer, that would explain the ship prices. But as a campaign player, there seems to be little enough cash. I'm over 50% of the way through this campaign and still in a light fighter - not by preference. I think its mostly because the cheaper HF and VHF equipment is all replaced with the cool new ships - that cost more.

Just something to think about. But tough to balance the game between these two needs.
