Argh! I cannot get this to work either! Does it work in singleplayer as well? Someone above mentioned that he went too fast for the story so I assume that it does work with SP. But I cannot get it to work after I uncompress it, add the line and the value and save it as "constants.ini". I have never tried using mods in FL.
*cackle* That's absolutely hilarious.
Warning!
While Asteroids are no problem....
Cruising through a planet or the sun? not a good idea. Still gets you.
I hit it thinking "It's not doing anything" and realized my ship had vanished...as i swung around i saw the Star for New London, clicked on it, and found i was over 5000k away. as i spun to aim toward it, trying to gauge how fast i was going (apparently around 100,000m/s) i smashed into the sun. it all happened so soon, i overshot the star by an unknown amount before i actually exploded.
But an awesome mod. *lol*

I found another odd bug. certainly one of those "Your asking for it anyway" sort of things.. but... with Cruising Speed set to 50,000 and the ANOM_MAX set to 100,000... flying around in cruise is uber-fun (short of hitting planets and things. do you have any idea how hard it is to dodge a sun? heh.) However, trying to bring up the map to see where you're at *while* cruising is *not* recommended at this speed. have tested it on multiple PC's, apparently when it runs into areas that it hasnt explored yet (what i was using that god-awful speed for, looking for more hidden ships and jumpholes.) whenever it tries to update more than one spot at a time, you get an almost insta-lock.
Setting it back to 10,000 makes it a little more safe... still locks occasionally. 5,000 seems to be the best speed for me.

Ok I'm afraid I'm retarded now... haven't done any modding before but this shouldn't be that hard. However I'm failing miserably
I have the following in my uncompressed constants.ini file...
[PhySysConsts
MATERIAL_FRICTION = 0.100000
MATERIAL_ELASTICITY = 0.900000
DEFAULT_LINEAR_DAMPING = 0.500000
DEFAULT_ANGULAR_DAMPING = 0.200000, 0.200000, 0.200000
ANOM_LIMITS_MAX_VELOCITY = 30000
I also tried adding the line CRUISING_SPEED = XXXX
that didn't seem to do anything. Does anyone see something blatantly stupid here? I don't mind anyone calling me a retard as long as you tell me how to fix it
Thanks gents!
