Sigh, I have that problem to

I reinstalled directx9 and it still didnt work.

And, how can directx affect your connection thingy? It doesnt make sense. And I hope a patch will fix it

same crap has happened to me 4 times

i wonder if the main sever just gets to busy ?

i hope they find a fix cause this sux when it happens

DirectX can affect your connection "thingy"

becos you connect trough directplay. look at you dxdiag (start-> run: dxdiag) and try testing your directplay network connection.

Just a thought, check you're not running any personal firewall programs and if you are make sure you are allowing freelancer to access the internet (and possibly act as a server).

it could be the global server is congested, I was able to connect fine this morning, I've had a bath come back to the machine and can no longer connect, its not DX9 or any other setting as I've done nothing to the machine since I logged off, and hacing checked everything all is well

So just gonna sit here with freelancer minimised and read webpages and hopefully it will conect sometime soon

Ive had the same problem for the last 20 min where I couldn't connect to global server.

I tried the reinstallation of DX9 and hmmm... now I can connect.

I had the same issue. Didnt believe the DX9 fix, but tried it anyway.

It worked !!!!! (For me anyway)

I cant connect to the global server either.... Something weird DID happen though... As i was trying to connect it said "Disconected from Global Server, No Internet games available" Than it jumped to "Connecting to Global Server" WEIRD EH!? Get that every time... now LATE at night i can connect half the time... i got no idea whats up!? HELP!?

(Reinstalled DX didnt work!)

Yeah, it has something to do with directPlay, and either IPX, UDP or it's TCP/IP settings, because I couldn't play freelancer or generals LAN, but good ol starcraft which isn't a dplay lobbiable application worked perfectly fine
so it's a directx9 prob I think
