Global Servers Are Moving

So they will be down all week! We are working on establishing some manual procedures to connect to the MP servers you are using.

Could all who currently play MP tell us which servers they where using?

Well I spend most of my time on Stingers "TLR" server. Currently the best one that I have been able to join.

Might this global server list moving help sort out the problem of not being able to join the Elite server and a couple of others? I really hope so. Otherwise I'm going to be missing out on some of the best MP action there is in FL

It is possible to connect to another server, even when the list servers are down.

To do so, do the following:

Execute the freelancer.exe application with the -s<IPORT> option.

For example, to connect to the Elite server:
freelancer.exe -s131.107.83.10:2302

(which is the static IP,and current port the server is running on)

Other server operators may want to post a message as well with the current IP of their server.

To connect to the TLR server:

freelancer.exe -S67.39.67.197:2304 (updated)

To start a server it's very similar:

flserver.exe /P2302 (that last number is important to post since it's the DirectPlay port)

All this is done two ways. One is to go directly to the command line of your computer (START/RUN/CMD) and get to the directory where the files flserver.exe and freelancer.exe are located. Then simply follow below:

TO CONNECT freelancer.exe -s67.39.67.197:2302
TO START SERVER flserver.exe /P2302

The other way is to add this on the end of your desktop shortcut, but being a DOS man, I encourage the former technique.

i dont understand... do we add it to the name or something? or do we go into properties?

In you FL shortcut, you find the box that says "TARGET", and after the long link there and after the quotes add the -s<ip-number>:<port> parameter.

You can add several of them to add more servers!

if your syntax is perfect, the server will show up nicely.

Using the above method(opening the cmd prompt) i was blissfully able to log onto the server. But, no one else was there..i guess it's just one of those days. are others being able to get through? I tried the "shortcut" target modification, but it gave me an error about that file not existing, so i suggest just running the cmd. On another note, I'm really glad I found this site, and props to all the guys who are a part of it. I hope this game prospers as much as i hope it will. I'm going back in to get my commodity groove on.
