i use normal missiles at close range in head-ons... a combo off emp-missiles and non-stalker missiles can be a fast kill
i have always a emp-missile and a non-stalker missile launcher on my ship, for further damage i use a shield buster gun and flak cannons (fast/slow).
i use no torps, but use the hornet cruise disruptor. as u can see above, i use mostly the dagger. but i have alaso higher classed ships (don't call names off them ). it isn't neadable to mount missiles, but it can lead u to the upperhand off the fight, with will result in a kill with ur missiles/guns. i don't say that only guns is unpowered and doesn't do enough damage, but i say that u can turn the battle when ur the underdog in the fight with missiles.
a battle with is fighted with only guns is the 1 who have the bestest guns and the bestest shiphandling the winner, when u use missiles also (i destroy a npc patriot with 2 missiles) the upperhand off the bestest handling and bestest guns is lesser, and sometimes the enemy will try some things what can't be done with his/her ship and u can shoot him down... also the use off missiles can lead to mass damage in a sec, ie. guns can't do this. in the times where u have a black shot on the target u wish u had mutiple missile launchers and can destroy a fully armored and shielded ship into scrap.
i don't say, y are u not using missiles , co'z i know the drawbacks also off them, u need to practice first with them... co'z u know that the patriot is a agile ship and isn't easy to destroy, first i used also only guns, and tested a few times missiles (mostly missed), after some fun hours off gaming, and did missions with no guns, but stalker missiles in a group, i began to like thus missiles, and practiced more and more with them, later changed a second gun into the cannonball missile, better mass damage, lower cost, lower turnrate... more misses in the begin, later when i hitted more offten with them, i changed a gun into a emp-missile launcher, and used sometimes all in 1 shot (don't do that, co'z the stalker missile will hit the target, and blow the other missiles also and that lead to lesser dammage off the missile). now i use no stalker missiles anymore, and fight with lower classes off ships, co'z the bestest missiles what i think are the class 7 missiles (emp-missile and non-stalker in the same class). and this will lead to not destroying my missiles with the stalker with i shooted myself.
i did div 43 missions in a dagger, due to the use off missiles. only guns drain ur powercore extremely fast, change some guns into missiles, will lead to lesser damage off total guns, but to more damage over time, due to the use off missiles... in a long fight, the 1 with missiles will win, co'z he have still power for the guns and can use missiles.
