The NEO clan on Seattlebased

Herer we go into the reams of the NEO clan.

Just to start off why do the members of NEO think that just because they come on a server, order you about and think they are the b's and e's .

They seem to start by ordering normal players to attack a clan ( in this case OWL ) just for the hell of it . Why would normal players attack a large group of players just to get shot up. BEATS ME. If you tell them no they put it simply
"where going to PK you till you leave unless you join us."

Not to sure about other servers but this is how they are going to try and take over the seattle based server where I have started to play. This seems very inmature to try and ruin the server by running people off.

Here what i think all us normal players should do.

1 ignore them as in dont answer them when they message you
2 get a few normal none clan gamesters and blow them away as you see fit.
3 Let a OWL member know if they try to bully you , OWlL has the presents on there all the time
4 send a e-mail to the admin

As far as i can tell NEO like to attack in groups and are not realy good 1 V 1 so if they PK you just because you told them to leave you alone get some pals and hunt them down 1 by 1

Also if any NEO are reading this i may use a clan tag [SAS but am not in any clan am a 1 man clan.

do as you like but just leave the seattle based server alone go and ruin your own server not someone elses

What a shame...that's where I play. I haven't even tried Elite so as to stay away from NEO. I've never met one, but I've also never heard them described as "friendly", "helpful", "nice", or "fair" in these forums. I guess I'll be finding out first hand.

Please guys, don't ruin Seattle for those of us that have been enjoying ourselves there.

NEO does not play on Seattle. Any players using the NEO tag there are not actual members of our clan.

As I've said in the past - NEO has no intentions of moving from Elite.
I sometimes make characters on other servers, however I do so only to see what clans play where.

Then take it from me.

NEO is friendly, helpful, nice, and fair if you show them some decency and respect.

Contrary to the propoganda, I've found the NEO players to be friendly in general, and rabidly against cheating. They just like to shoot things. This is fine with me, since I also like to shoot things. Taxing players gives them an excuse to shoot things. Some players don't like to be shot at, which creates a problem, but I find most of these 'gun-shy' players like to, themselves, shoot things, which shows a bit of a double standard. :p

NEO pilots are also (relatively) very good in the main, which creates a little extra resentment. Not necessarily the best, but certainly among the top duelers in any server I have visited.

Generally I have found NEO players to be straightforward about their intentions. For instance, when they are going to shoot you, they will say "I am going to make you go bai" or even just "you go bai". A careful analysis of the statement reveals that.. Well, no time for that, you just went bai. If they intend to shoot *someone*, but haven't decided who that will be, you will know by the fact that they are online. I can appreciate that kind of consistency.

In short: Don't believe the hype.

"We're going to PK you until you join us." Is a typical OWL tactic. Visit their forums and check out their recruitement rules.

I'll believe what you just told me: That NEO will most likely kill me on sight for no reason other than to show that they are "among the best". Not sure how killing a freighter with inferior guns constitutes a show of skill, but whatever.

I believe what I experience. OWL has either left me alone or conversed with me as a friend and fellow gamer. I haven't recieved any messages from them saying, "you go bai". And I haven't been forced to join them, although they extended me an invitation.

Tough to believe they are half as bad as NEO since there are no "anti-OWL" alliances solicited here.

No no.. You have it wrong. They don't kill to prove they are the best. They kill because they like to shoot things. (any NEO feel free to correct me. I don't think I'm really out on a limb here, though..). It's nothing personal. Your freighter fit the criteria of 'thing' and so it was shot at.

Now I will admit that flying a freighter over a long distance trading run only to be shot before you can drop off your cargo is quite frustrating. However, so is being humbled in a duel, killed by the AI, flying into a planet while alt-tabbed and reading the forum, forgetting to click the 'buy' button for your cargo before making the trip, and a host of other occurances. That's just the way it goes. You can learn from all these mistakes though, and avoid them in the future. In NEO's case, it is as easy as watching the Player group/location list and not flying your freighter right past a pirate-oriented clan member. This minor (and I do mean minor - it's pretty easy) challenge makes the game a little more interesting. Without a challenge, the game quickly becomes quite stale.

To bored players like myself, it is worth flying a freighter through NEO territory just for the rush. I give them full props for making the game a more exciting place to be.

On the other hand, if you want to learn a little something about combat, go engage a NEO pilot in combat (with an eagle or whatever), and figure out why they kill people so well. Pride is the first barrier to improvement. Or if you are a great pilot, go kill one of them and pat yourself on the back. Either way, its sure to be fun.

They like to shoot things. I like to shoot things. You like to shoot things. We all like to shoot things. What's gonna be wrong with that?

EDIT: The 'you go bai' thing was meant as tongue-in-cheek. It's not like i'd expect them to say that, I've just found they're usually pretty direct about things. If you are around them, and you aren't already friendly with them, you can expect to be shot at, or taxed, or whatever based on mood and whim.

If, on the other hand, you are friendly with them, you can probably expect to be shot at based on mood and whim. But at least in this case you can have a good laugh.

That's what I'm hoping to do...avoid them. Hopefully NEO isn't moving on to the Seattle Based server, if things get bad I'll have to stop playing there to avoid being one of the many 'things' they enjoy shooting at.

I guess I don't really care who's better than who which is why I don't duel. I just think it would be really cool if all players would respect whether someone wants to duel or not.

But that's life...if NEO (or any other clan) comes in and 'owns' the server, the only thing I can do is try to get more fighter escorts through their space or move on to a different server. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I don't believe that NEO would have been playing on your home server. It seems very unlike them to recruit aid from the masses.

If PKing is contrary to the rules of your server, I would suggest you email the admin with the information. If not, then all I can suggest is that you find a server with a ruleset to your liking, start your own server and recruit like-minded players, or simply accept the PKing as a facet of game play on your server.

On Elite, in particular, I enjoy being the Hunted, I enjoy being the Hunter, and I enjoy my freedom to have chosen a server where it is not always my choice which of those roles I will fill at a given moment. This isn't really relevant to your server, it's just a self-contained statement.

so what yourr saying Tasiin is that some one is using your name on Seattle server
I think not, why would anyone use your name to frame you.

Also why do u think its fun to kill things. Its a game played by many who play because they remember Elite not because they want to be killed because you find it fun.

As i said before I am not a clan member and i dont recruit players but if NEO starts to try and tax toll kill on site there are many who will return the fav

Thats all there is to it

Do me a favor and visit OWL forums. check out their recruiting rules. You'll understand what I'm talking about then.

Post Sat Aug 02, 2003 6:08 pm

blackhawk i have seen there recruiting rules.
And they seem to ask people to join them, as they did when i joined the server for the first time. I said no thanks, they have never attacked me but in stead have offered me help and advise. The OWL clan let you play the game the way you want and dont bully players that dont want to join them. NEO on the other hand just put you on a KOS list and make your gaming experance hell.

Every clan has there bad eggs , but NEO seem to be all badeggs. Aslo like some has said there is no anti OWL clan but there are many anti NEO what does that tell you
The main thing is when you pay for a game over 30$ (it was 39.99) I want to be able to play without others ruining for me. I play ghost recon if i want to kill or be killed by other players, but thats just me.

You play the game the way you want but leave others alone to play the game the way they want. your fun is not fun too me
