The NEO clan on Seattlebased

Want help in running a persistent server? Want to setup a gaming session? Look no further!

Opps! Is this below the line? Sorry!

Cleavers admitted to saying what youve accused him of, but if he hadnt that was in no way evidence! That could have been any two people on any server easily!

Same with any other little system chats you have!

And if NEO are on seattle we will find them.

You'd better be prepared for the jump into hyperspace. It's unpleasently like being drunk.
What's so unpleasent about being drunk?
You ask a glass of water.

Just want to clear up a few things. [*-=RN=-*[Midnight was not initially known as Wardragon until after he joined RN. Once this was found out he was kicked out very quickly. RN has always been a loyal NEO ally and is proud of the fact. That doesn't mean we always agree with them! But most of the time we do. It does mean when we or they ask for help, help is given. As Gung_Ho said it is a mutual respect thing. This is how DG, FF, RN, NoTec and possibly others have allied with NEO.

I realize it is a game but one we ALL play and make a CHOICE to play wherever we wish. On Elite NEO adds spice to playing there and many players, even enemies agree. Doesn't mean they like it but that is how it is. Elite server rules are not broken and that is the ultimate line.

...Most illuminating! Thanks, Tasiin.

I've already commented on clans before, but allow me to re-iterate.

If you're in an Omicron system, you're not in Liberty anymore, it's dangerous!
If you see a clan in that system, maybe you should give a hail and announce your intentions?
Could save you a hassle!

Silent Jay, let me throw this in the pot for you.

Play where you want.

First, I've only recently started playing MP. I bounced around a couple servers that didn't last, or got locked out, but finally settled on Elite about two weeks ago. No one was jumping me. No one chased me from dock to dock. I made the run around the systems doing missions and making trades, and simply doing some casual playing, I'm flying a Titan (Zoners REALLY don't like me, or it would might have been an Eagle from some advice I've been given) and have 1.7mil. This is NOT a hard game.

Only "harrassment" I've gotten was from one of the "Omen" guys, but let me add that another of the "Omen"s was quite decent. NEO has virtually ignored me, and a couple of NoTecs have been pretty nice with chats and offers of weapons. To date, I've turned down all offers.

I did witness one incident where NoTec kept someone planet bound. I finally joined in and helped keep him there when it became obvious even to my n00b-eyes that he was maneuvering at 200 without cruise engines (I.E. that flameburst aft, ya know?).

So, to sum up, don't judge a movie by what the critics say. Moreoften than not, I've enjoyed what the critics hated, and despised what they adored. Decide for yourself.

And in the end, you only lose what's in the cargohold. Not even unexpended bats/bots are lost.

I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I'll even give them my trust...once. Guess I just don't like the idea of groups of people coming along and declaring their control over my gaming experience. This has not happened on Seattle Based so far and I hope it doesn't happen. I usually play in the early morning anyway when activity is low and I can go wherever I want.

although since we are quoting 18th century american heros, we should note that ben franklin (not jefferson btw) said the price of freeedom is eternal vigilance. and abe linkon talks about how old discussions were still being repeated much later, in the gettysburg address. and if you really get into tolkien you can see what growing lax in security can do to even the strongest cities.

of course, we are not in the 18th century anymore (thank god we are in the computer age now ), and we dont live in middle-earth, so all that may not be relivant.

I know this comes in quite late (about a page late), but to refer to what cleaver said as "sexual harassment" is right on the ball. The definition that you got was with reference to a Respect in the workplace policy. If you were to have took two seconds and looked up sexual harassment as a general term you would find:

"Sexual harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to the following:

1-The victim as well as the harasser may be a woman or a man. The victim does not have to be of the opposite sex.
2-The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, an agent of the employer, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or a non-employee.
3-The victim does not have to be the person harassed but could be anyone affected by the offensive conduct.
4-Unlawful sexual harassment may occur without economic injury to or discharge of the victim.
5-The harasser's conduct must be unwelcome."

Please make special note of the last situation. I'm quite sure that the sexually explicit/derogatory/vile comments regarding blood, virginity alluding to rape would be quite consistent with unwelcome. At least by Neop's view of it. If you are so blind as to think that alluding to someone being raped in general, or as it being their first sexual contact, and making it an insult (as if it can be anything else) can be anything else than sexual harassment (regardless if it is done over the internet or not) you MUST be re-educated. Note the use of the word MUST and not SHOULD. People like you MUST be taught that treatment such as that is not tollerated in the real world, and will not be tollerated over the internet. Just because the internet provides a world where people can live with alias', or can get away with things such as this trash does not mean that it should continue unpunished. If i were a moderator of this forum you would no longer be a member without a proper/formal appology. And for you to be so pompus to try to educate or chastise Tas about YOUR poor treatment of Neop is quite pathetic. Please go away and dont return Cams/Cleaver.

admiral_tolwyn: Do a Google search of the quote: "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" and the name "Jefferson" and you'll see that it was Jefferson who said it.

A similar Google search of the same quote and the name "Franklin" shows many sites which do not attribute the quote to Ben Franklin.

Franklin did, on the other hand, say: "They that can trade essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
