I primarily run cargo missions so when someone asks me for money I tell them they'll have to earn it by escorting me to my next destination. I pay 30% of the profit which tends to be 50k-80k, a nice score for a player just starting out.

Seems the PK menace has really subsided in the servers I play in, so I can pretty much get by without an escort, but I enjoy chatting with new people while on cargo missions and new players get the chance to earn some good money rather than have it given to them.

Nav_Boy - you need to talk to Brow. He emailed EVERYONE who asked a copy of the files for their chars. I ran into another player from Brow on Argonia Station, he fronted me 300K (much less than I needed) and I got him back inside 30 minutes. Rhino'd to Ainu and back a few times...challenging, but fun none-the-less. Ran into Freek there too! I know how you feel about your stash - how many runs did I make to fill it for you??? I did find an AWESOME change to the 600K loop you told me that adds 300K and 6-7 minutes to the loop...come to Argonia and I will tell you all about it. Where are you playing now, anyways?

Exzyle - come to my server and I will gladly run one with you. Like I said above, I am up and running now, and have creds to go around. Right now you can find me off and on at Argonia Station.

Gung_Ho - Something for nothing means someone gets screwed. I hate both the screwing and the being screwed. Case in Point - When I started on Browclops (Rest in Peace), I was targeted as a noob. A player GAVE me - without my asking - a GIFT of 750K credits. I got started, got revenge, got to making a HUGE profit. Now, with our server gone, he is in the same boat I was in, and I returned the favor, unasked for. I just about had to force feed him the credits. With me, I am easy to befriend and easy to piss off in the game. I give away more information, credits, destinations, and weapons than I know I should. It's all part-and-parcel of how I play the game. I don't just say "Hey, want some free stuff?" - I build value into what I am doing, find out if I can expect the person to stick around or not, and find out if it is worth my time and effort.

All this is just IMO stuff...I play the game like Karma...expecting it all to come back to me.

By the way, just to prove my point...after getting my starter cash, in under 10 total hours of play time, I have 2 lvl 40+ (one freighter, and 1 fighter - in case I get bored running around in one or the other) players, and I am about to create my storage character. A little has gone a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way here.
