EVE-Online is everything players want Freelancer to be

Want help in running a persistent server? Want to setup a gaming session? Look no further!

Yes, i agree 100% with you.

The real problem with Freelancer is that the universer is very very very small, as the ship upgrade is.
When I start a new character, i usualy buy a Eagle about 8 to 10 hours after starting the new character.
There are too many solar systens. I am tired of engaging missions at Ruiz Base ... there is nothing left to do at Freelancer to me !!!

My question is about the combat in EVE. If it's like E&B's point and click, I won't even go near that game. I like Freelancer because it's actually a space simulator, instead of a game trying to turn space into a giant EverCrap. I want to use twitch skills, not have to spend hours a day training to finally be able to use this new gun.

Agreed, FlakAttack. I tried E&B about two weeks after I bought Freelancer. I played it one time. The last thing I want is another Space RPG. I think I'm turned off to Eve by a statement above:

5.1 How will combat be handled in the game?
Combat in EVE will not follow the standard "keep in sight, calculate lead" style of combat associated so far with most space simulators.

Bleh. It sounds like it is an RPG battle. A flight sim is a standard "keep in sight, caculate lead" based game. Anything other is not a flight sim.

yah actually allegiance was everything I wanted in a space game.. too bad it's dead.. there was nothin like flying a bomber into an enemy sector and taking out a base while 2 turrent gunners onboard (real people) were holding off guys in interceptors launched to defend- definitely the best I ever played.. freelancer's ship hud with mouse flight is decent though- works just as good as joystick.. get the feeling that eve is nothing more than evercrack in space- no skills involved just a bunch of wasted time ****in off.. to be able to host so many players it'd have to be like that

eve is not a flight sim its an rpg.. I actually picked it up today and have been messing around with it, its extremely complex and the learning curve is a little tall... but the graphics are fully amazing and the stability and performance is likewise, considering such a recent launch. The game itself is incredible although hard to describe in conventional gaming terms. dont expect instant action, but after coming from drearily predictable mmos like daoc and impossibly boring repetitive mmos like EQ this is actually a intriguing captivating game, I would recommend it to someone who has an uninhibited explorer type personality over your common Q3, UT mastermind. those FPS like freelancer are great but compound strategy with thinking in a beautiful setting and you have this... eve is a great great game,, just an acquired taste i suppose.

"Except "FREE"."

There's also the other part where it isn't any fun.
