This is exactly why this is a problem. It complete bull to have to continually click on connect only to get that dreaded message "server is full" when there's people logged onto Elite doing NOTHING
With all due respect, sting, even if this guy is telling the truth, NEO's (and I hope other campers) are smart enough to not just sit and do nothing. As soon as they see
Departing Player: Ridiculous_Ass_Clown_That_Can't_Speak_English
They move on. I doubt very much that for 29 minutes this person idled in front of Freeport 4 and on the 30th minute chose to jump into Manchester. Not only that, but this person could've chosen to pursue other opportunities that just happen to be in Bretonia, and this guy got the wrong idea because Bretonia is directly adjacent to Magellan, and he figured, *since he's the victim,* this horrible NEO was waiting exclusively for him on the other side of the gate, which, flatteredly, I must say is just not true. We have more important bastards to bake than an loose-mannered level 20 who probably just purchased a Dromedary with not much more than $20k worth of water or something onboard. Sorry, but I could give a damn.
Furthermore, on idling and the misuse or server traffic, perhaps you should consult [WPCrying_Devil. Let me be the FIRST to say, however, the last thing I want is to be swept up in the cycle of TLR/Elite politics because I know Crying_Devil is friends with one of the admins, and I don't care that much about this anyway. However I happen to know that for several days, I know that he does nothing. He does not even fly (for more than one minute). He sits on Crete while four or five of us sit outside, and he'll taunt us or try to translate some obscure and unfunny witticism in his head, until he launches and thereafter we advance to kill him and put him back on Crete, and he'll "talk" to us some more. He's a virtual burden to me and he's a physical burden to the server; he does nothing.
Long overdue, despite my lack of interest in sifting through these forums to correct every ounce of bull**** I discover, let me correct the bull****ters here and now, because I don't post much here anyway. The persistence of NEO is driven more by provocation than simple dissatisfaction. Personally I think dock-camping someone all night is ridiculous and wasteful (and to the server as well; make no mistake, I see your point), but unfortunately my capacity to endure "NEO SUX IS CHEATZ" has been overtaken and my associates and I have to respond somehow or another, for fear of "NEO SUX IS CHEATZ" turning into "OMG NEO PUSSYZ" or something of the sort. The pleasure I take in dock-camping is very short-lived, rest assured, but my hope is that perhaps if we reprimand severely enough, their flammability could be on the decline. I understand that the administrators' sympathies come from more than the fact that Bargib and Crying Devil are friends; I know that you have to empathize with those who complain constantly and make themselves out to be harmless mockingbirds; innocent victims. However, I can NEVER recall camping a person of polite amenities and rationale. If I pass someone I don't know, and kill them, 1% of the time I won't get any diologue, and 99% of the time I'll get "O MY GOD WTFUC DID U DO THAT FOR U ASSBITCH HELICOPTER TWAT I HOPE YUO BURN," or something to that effect.
After that, it's safe to say that I feel relatively offended as well. Can't we all be victims? This is when the camping starts. After they're tired of camping, we'll allow them to offer financial reparations for their uncontrolled tongue, and we'll be on our way.
Perhaps this is all too long-winded an illustration of what I'm trying to say, but I ask you please to think that not all of your pitiful victims are as innocent as they might otherwise appear in-game.
