Chips,
I'm trying to make all of the cruisers, gunboats, batlleships and cargo ships flyable without modifying anything but some of the ship stats. Do I have to change anything besides the shiparch.ini file?

Whello! okey i fear this Q has been asked many times... i just cant find the answers, so therefore ill ask again...

My Q is when i fx want a bigger cargo hold on a ship in SP i do what?
i start downloading Bini, then i uncompresse the "shiparch.ini" then i edit and then delete the added ".txd" and then start up the game right?

Well for some reason or another the game seems to overwrite my change... WHY?!
If i edit the "weapon_equip.ini" it dosent!

Oh and just one more thing: I downloaded Porches Sith Infiltrator, all works fine exept when i kill kill the engine, then uses the afterburn it start accelerating to 998... and thats ONLY on new ships... how do i change that? (in the "goods.ini"
it does have 2 engines insted of just 1...)

Hello all,

New to Freelancer and these forums. Thought i'd pop in and say hello as well as ask a newbie question.
I have what I feel is a cool idea for a new costume for Trent, or I should say a revamp of his existing costume. My problem lies in not knowing how to export the texture files into an editable form such as a bitmap.
Anyone care to help?

when I've had a similar thing happen to me it was due to another mod file overwriting it, when loading up a mod, I think it makes some kind of backup. Have you had another mod loaded relating to ship stats before editing the shiparch. I only mod in FLMM, obviously I have to unload it before editing. Try loading up an unmodded game then get out of it then load up your modded file. Might work.

Can any one tell me if there is a post some where about what ids_names and ids_info relate to what. The problem I have is I have created several systems but when I enter any it shows up on the player location as DIAMITE----- so I am assuming that I have messed up the info and name cards, but for the life I cant sus which. I go through them and check them with FLED-is and they all seem ok but it does not help I am not sure which relates to where.

Thanks in advance for any help and I'd just like to say that these forums are a god send, thanks to all those who put so much time in to them.

Ok sorted the prob I had with the wrong system name showing. I asumed that the strid_name pointed to ids_names but it needs to point to ids_info with the system name in.

Ha Ha the feeling of success.

Cardamine - look on front page, i have a link to the page dealing with adding sound and music. DBPowerAmp is the best piece of conversion software i know of.

Thanks Capt Byron but Chips and Accushot are the real heroes. I'm just trying to give a little back as it were, where I think I can help. These tutorial threads are great and helped me get started at modding. I think deck2 is the launch/arrival deck. Not sure as I just copy a paricular base as a whole to create a new one. Its easy to populate your base too. Its all detailed in the different base making tutorials.

I still can't get my new nebulas to be included in random mission briefs. Anyone had the same problem?
