two questions

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

two questions

Where exactly is freeport 7?

Which mod should i download? Im looking for a mod that offers new ships, systems, bases and perhaps a mod that allows you to destroy bases and battleships. I don't want a mod that gives star wars ships and so on. I want the ships to be fairly true to the game. I've been looking for some time now, and I really don't know which mods are good or bad. plz help me

1. Look around. It's no fun just to be told where it is.
2. Check the downloads and mod forums. They have plenty of great mods.

When you find Freeport 7, like me and many others, you'll probably wonder...'Why the hell did they trek all the way to Manhatten, when there are several Planet/Stations a hell of a lot closer!'

they went back to manhattan cuz thats where (1) the easy enemies are (the game wouldnt be ne fun startin in rheinland) and (2) cuz thats where juni, king, and ashcroft are! =P

Juni: So trent, will you help us with the mission?

Trent: Sure, as long as I'm not shot at, knocked out, held at gunpoint, electrocuted, skewered alive by giant alien shapeshifters, have to dive out windows, or fight off spindly nomad incubi.

I've yet to find Freeport 7. Does it actually exist without mods?

I'm making record time!
If only I had someplace to be...

Oh come on!! im tired of looking for it !! I've been to all the systems and I haven't found anything.

The opening cutscene with Freeport 7 was made in an unaccessible system (unless you use mods). Otherwise, it was supposed to be in Sigma 17. They did a bad job of recreating it, though, since the system is missing a few of the nebulae in the real system.

I belaive that freeport 7 was in sigma 17 where just before the cryer base there is all that station leftovers and beside in the *movie* there is the same suns as in the sigma 17 system.

ever thought that Trent was taken to Liberty after being rescued by the escape pod because that a liberty Transport was the first ship to find him.

freeport 7 got blown to dust just like my 1000000 credits that bytheway you still ow me....... now you know it is blown away and if you use mods then it's in sigma 17

Post Fri Aug 13, 2004 4:08 am

well, the wreck is still there. i was so excited when i stumbled on to it. Sigma 17 is the only system with the three suns and their specific line-up and colors. BTW, Trent was not taken to manhatten because ashcroft was there. Ashcroft was just a smuggler, the real story is about Syd and his artifact. So, no matter where they ended up, Trent would still might have had problems with the artifact. Second, in game words:
Trent was taken to manhatten because NY is a novice place to start and not get blown to bits.
In real words,
Trent was taken to manhatten because FP7 was propably set out there by Liberty, since it dispatches 3 defenders to take care of the transport, so a liberty rescue patrol was dispatched to pick up the survivors.
Third,
Wouldn't it turn out a little better if the order blasted out King and Trent and the rest of the fools near Newark and you turn up in their cargo hold and start fighting the nomads then and have a different storyline?

Yeah, the whole liberty protectorate makes sense, until you look at a nav map. Sigma 17 isn't attatched to liberty in any way, you'd have to go through Rheinland (never really buddy buddy with liberty), Kusari (always felt there was suspiscion between the two) or Hispania (Yeah, let's take transports through Omicron Alpha!). Why would Liberty want to protect a station it had no direct access to or, if it didn't, why investigate the incident, aside from the obvious Artifact dealy, which the LSF didn't know about (remember, it was a Navy plot to sieze the rock, yet the news reporter says it's an LSF investigation). --- VH16

yes it does'nt matter where they where going only this was the easyest system and still if they landed on new berlin they guy who was carrying the artifact was also on the armored transport so he still got the artifact..

hopefully what ever the reason it might be explained in freelancer 2

Post Fri Aug 20, 2004 10:27 pm

maybe the Liberty navy had some sort of top-secret jump gate 500km away from any settlements in the Sigam-17 targeted at another gate in Alaska...
just a thought.
Then again, Liberty might have jump drives that no-one knows about
