I checked out that sun, I was bored so I went over 1000k past the sun down the tunnel. Sorry, but theres nothing there. Just endless space.

I just did exactly the same thing... three times, actually...
That "far away sun"'s corona is 198.5 or so K from the jump point to Omicron Gamma, just as a FYI, and takes approx the length of two cigarettes to reach Heheheh
Anyhow, point being, he is right. I dunno if they're called Sleeper Ships, but they're the equivalent of a Cruiser, just the Nomad type. The first time they weren't there. The second time they were there but I fried, and the third time they weren't there.
This leads me to believe that either I'm hallucinating due to lack of sleep (which I doubt actually, since I've only been awake 20 or so hours, and my record is 6 days and 18 hours... ) or that they do in fact exist there. I assume it's a random thing with a rarity as approximated to the amount of times a Nomad Fighter will drop a Nomad Laser weapon.
If I had the patience I'd keep flying out there again and again, but I'm working on outfitting my Titan with Nomad weaponry atm, so I'm just going to stick around the Monkey-Dock area...
Which brings me to another question... Do the Nomad Fighters ever drop Nomad weapons which fit the TURRET position? That'd be hella nice...

PS- This game is orgasmic. I can't wait til Freelancer 2... *IF* it's planned at all...

well....the sun is there....but rad isnt...perhaps....the ships arent there....and you were experiencing some kind or time warp, and you saw the sleeper ships in the past during the journey......HAHAHAHA just kinding!!!!!
