Fly over and hide on top of the Kusari battleship. It's a safe spot where very few, if any enemies will be able to hit you. Since it's close to the generators, it makes a nice place to rest and recharge your shields before going out again.

Reaper: $200,000,000.

I simply followed the advice of the other pilots - Fly to the bottom of the asteroid and then go up through the cylindrical hole bored through it. That way you get right next to the generators without being hit by the fighters. All you have to do then is avoid the battleships fire, and the best way to do that is to keep moving.
