NO WAY OUT ON MISSION 9 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

NO WAY OUT ON MISSION 9 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Im on mission 9 where you have to attack Tekagi's Fortress from Kyoto Base, but is too hard, so i went back some saving points and tried to upgrade and get something better then my Hawk, but I found out Everyone hates me except the Golden C. and the Blood Dragons. So i went all the way to Bretoinia to find out they hate me as well. Where can i get a better ship? My stats are below.

Level 16
worth 155,284
Next lvl Req. Mission <<<<<(I went back some saving points remember)

And remember, my rep: EVERYONE IS HOSTILE except golden C and Blood Dragon

The Arch mission with the Blood Dragons
takagi's arch

Some threads about the same problem.

Basicaly: Big ship, Big guns, Torps and (perhaps) missiles
Hit 'n Run tactics are the best here.

Good luck

max out your guns to do damage - but personally - i used mines as well at some points.......don't forget they pack a small punch - and can help take down targets for you......especially stationary ones. You have tried using torps haven't you?

Have you checked out the Blood Dragon and Golden C bases for a heavy fighter?

All of the above suggestions are good and really add up. One other thing I've found out helps: hit the B key regularly, you'd be suprised how many shield batteries and nanobots are floating around in a battle.

Pack missiles! Catapults work wonders.

Don't be afraid to back off and recharge your shields.

My advice as I've always said for this... Get a Dragon, get a starkiller, and arm the starkiller permanatly. Strafe round the shield to the right, whilst pointing to the left. Two orbits adn you should be done.
I used
2x Tantos
2x Wakizashi
2x Scramblers. (May have been SunFuries...)

If it wasn't for the inky blackness of the night you wouldn't appreciate the brilliance of the stars...

Isn't there a walkthrough available online that we can make sticky?

Post Fri Jul 25, 2003 10:09 pm

The first thing I always take out is the gunboats as they can realy do alot of damage if the focus on you while you got your back to them blasting the generators.

i can't believe any1 has had any kind of trouble with this mission.
i just stayed away from that patrol and at arch i flew right near those generators and blew them up while that battleship was trying to shoot me.
i don't remember to have died at all during this mission ever.
ofcourse i had a healthy supply of batteries and nanobots.
i was flying with hawk and worst thing that happened to me was a loss of a wing!
mines? torpedoes? i didn't need those toys to do the job.
i can't remember my armament for that mission very well, but it was dragon's or outcast's or rogues' weaponry.

Star Fighter,

Just my humble opinion, but I don't see that you added any value to this thread. I am wondering why you wasted your time.

As its his first post at TLR he probably wants to sound all tough and stuff.

I agree with Nickless. A walkthrough of this mission (and Hovis too) being stickied would hopefully remove some of the newbies always asking for help. Of course, there will always be those who are useless and ignore the stickies. *sighs*

i have played the story thru about 4 times and it is so easy every time i play it.
and i have only died 2 times(both in the first time i played the game and in that escape from libetry mission).
and i really don't care to came to talk on forums, but i just slipped here cause i was looking for mods and stuff.

Just because it's easy for one person doesn't mean it will be easy for another. People have different playing styles and skills.

Ideally, any comprehensive walkthrough posted will respect that and try to include the gamut of strategies and tactics. There are some talented players here who could do it if they had the time, but for now it's best to just skim the threads and get a sense of who knows what they're talking about, then do a search for any posts they've made concerning whichever mission is in question.

How arrogant are you? Nobody forced you to answer or even read the posting. It quite clearly was labeled stuck on Mission 9, you didn't have to go to the thread. I am one of those newbies, I got a little stuck with no cash and came to the forum in the hope of getting some advice; I got some great advice from some people who gave a c**p, spent their time helping me and greatly enhanced the fun side of the game by helping this newbie continue on in better shape without cheat codes or walkthroughs. Thanks to those people who continue help us newbies.

Jat71,

Despair not. There will always be those who are so insecure that they must ridicule others. But there will also always be those that feel it is an honor to help others.

Last message was directed to Sybot, didn't make that clear. Would also like to point out that this forum clearly states in it's description if you're stuck in a mission........................ Bulldog glad you and others are out there
