Most Powerful Gun in The Game

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Well, everyone likes to suggest that it's the pilot that matters, not the loadout. But's that's obviously not true if you think of it. It isn't an issue of black and white, it's a balance of many factors, with the skill of the pilot being of primary, but not exclusive importance.
The pilot
The loadout
Luck
The computer being used
Bandwidth, and latency issues
The quality of the mousepad being used

all these, and many more are factors. A good pilot with crappy latency, a crappy computer, a crappy loadout, a crappy mouse and crappy luck is pretty much going to lose a great deal of the time.

don't forgot the type of ship

u can kill a VHF in a LF without taking much damage, co'z u can outmaneuvre him, and if he's fire missiles u can outturn thus missiles, and u can see the line of fire he is shooting at you, the same is for him, only ur line of fire can be change a lot easier then his, co'z u can outmaneuvre him

about the weap... an outbalanced projectile speed and a good weaponclass is important... and of co'z, what weap do u like (slow firerate/high firerate, high projectile speed/slow projectile speed, guns/missiles, torps/disruptors and all that kind of sh*t)

sometimes u can better use a light fighter and do better missions then when u use a very heavy fighter, think about it

just want to add

ok, oops, upon re-checking the data, the most powerful guns, are the Diamondback/Cerberus, and the nomad cannon. However, what i mena t to say was, "exlcuding" nomad guns and classifieds and wahtever. guesses towards the most powerful gun not classified and not nomad? :p

The most powerful non-level 10 guns are the Kraken IIs. They do more damage per second then a lot of the level 10 guns. For shields Tizona del Cids are great but for hull and non-level 10 guns, Kraken IIs are the best. However I prefer Skyblast Bs. They give pretty good damage and do better versus postiron shields which is what most people have.

stat's of nomad blaster, nomad cannon and kraken type 2 (outcast particle cannon, i use mostly outcast particle cannons on my fighter)

kraken type 2 (class 9)
586 damage a single shot
4.00 firerate
2344 damage a second
(almost the same as the diamondback/cerberus, 122*4=488 energy use, diamondback and cerberus 293*2=586 energy use and dam/sec is 2346)

Nomad blaster (class 10)
635 damage a single shot
4.00 firerate
2540 damage a second

Nomad cannon (class 10)
847 damage a single shot
3.03 firerate
2566 damage a second (in 100sec it will be 256641 hulldamage)

between nomad cannons and blasters is the main div the firerate and dam a single shot, dam/sec is almost the same (2566-2540=22 dam/sec make cannons more)

Don't the Kraken IIs have a projectile speed of 700? I would think it would mess up your targeting cursor if you tried to match it with a Tizona or a Class 10.

sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me!

The Kraken II is the most powerful non-level 10 weapon. And if you combine it with the Tizonas or even level 9 Hornvipers few space craft will stand in your way. Do not let enemy figthers get behind you for to long, skill is also required to make them work correctly.

the kraken have a projectile speed of 700, and if i'm right also a range of 700...

Kraken type 2 (class 9) r on the outcast base in omicron beta, if i'm right the base is ruiz base

It is strange that they made the Krakens 700/700 speed/range. The other particle guns of the Outcasts have 600/600 while the tachyon kit has 700/700; so you have to make a choice between the better damage/efficiency of the particle guns or the better targetting characteristics of the tachyon guns. IOW, a classic tradeoff.

The Krakens combine the best of both so why would anyone want to buy the Wyrms? The particle guns have a penalty against molecular shields but their higher damage compensates that to some degree and if you have shield busters the point becomes moot anyway. In fact, if the Krakens were 600/600 they would match the Tizonas perfectly.

Commmonly duelists will engage in a series of 'passes'. <snip> So you have got to take into account that your guns are not going to be firing all the time.

(couldn't find a quote button)

You have to factor in the fact that because Nomad weapons require 0 energy, it is possible to fire ALL the time. So when passes are being made, someone with a Nomad Energy Cannon can give a non-Nomad-Cannon user lots of flak,

1) Increasing the chances of a hit significantly
2) Making it more difficult for the opponent to manouvere around all the flak (i.e. also making it more difficult for the opponent to target you).
