THE COALITION IS NOT THERE! SOL IS TOO!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Exactly the first plot line would have been cliche, and uninteresting, the plot would at best have turned out to be second rate or worse, roughly a 60/100 or so. Kinda like ORB was to Homeworld.

It's not possible to shoot while cloaked. Every Rheinland Valkyrie, Gunboat or Battleship uncloaked first before it fired. So the Nomads would have to do the same. And in that time, they'd die.

where can one dl teh original intro?

Post Fri Jun 06, 2003 6:20 pm

Y'know, I'd assume that Nomads would be smart enough to make sure that their immediate area was clear of any traffic before decloaking and using their starkiller. And if there was a defense force already following them, then the cloaking device isn't working anyway.

And why would the human governments be looking for cloaked ships when cloaked ships were thought to be impossible (never mind blowing up stars). When was the last time you saw patrols hovering around stars?

why would the nomads go all the way to SOL to blow up the sun, when there was 5 sleeper ships with thousands of people heading for there home, i mean who would go all that way, when for all they knew the sleeper ships were an invasion force. The nomads werent even in the galaxy until they were released by the rheinland expedition. It is possible it was the nomads creator race, but in the game it says that they were a cultured, peaceful race so why would they blow up a sun for no reason

They scrapped the original intro because people wanted the possiblity of another sequel where you can beat up on the Commies again.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

The Nomads cannot blow up stars. They could in the original intro, but that has been scrapped. So the Nomads have to resort to infiltration.

Post Sun Jun 08, 2003 3:58 am

Exactly.

If the Nomads could blow up stars, infiltration makes no sense.

In addition to shadow dancer's point, if the sun went nova (wouldn't go super) then the light would reach sirius in less than the time that the sleeper ships took to travel unless the ships are quntum.
Tink about the laws of reletivity, nothing can travel faster than light otherwise they could reach sirius and watch themselves taking off from sol.

the nomads would not have gone to sol to blow up the sun, if it wasnt in the intro thats on the disk then digital anvil did not want to have that storyline in the game, probably coz they are gonna make an xpansion pack that involves the coalition or sol

I think therefore i am....i think

Did you all notice how the original poster didn't ever come back with anything? Could he have been putting it out there to start up a bitch fest? hmm...

Um, you might not have noticed, but everyone in the game has FTL technology. What the heck do you think Jump Gates/Holes do?

even if the Nomads had some magical ray-gun that could send stars into super novas, the only reason the nomads wanted to destroy all the humans in the sirius sector is because they wanted to harvest the resources!!!!!!!! Supernovaing the systems would eliminate the resources and thereby defeated the purpose of coming at all!!!!!!!!! There, remember to fill it in this time
