Humpback

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I fly the Hump from New Berlin to Tokyo on the diamond run all the time. If I get lane hacked I thrust away, hit engine kill and turn to face the enemy. This is an old trick, as old as the game is. The enemy will not pursue.

When not in cruise mode, I fly exclusively on engine kill, using afterburners, reverse, and strafe for manuevering. This gives a constant 200 speed rating, while never dropping below 90% burner fuel.

Additionally, when i hear the missile warning while in cruise mode, i hit the engine kill key, and drift away at 300, safe from cruise missiles. This can cause a problem in asteroid fields, but even then you can often get enough space to safely re-trigger your cruise engines.

In the event I can't escape from those persistent homing missiles, I'll turn around (slowly) and head right towards the enemy while engaging cruise engines. This works for me probably 90% of the time vs. the AI. It would be a completely different story against a human player though.

I'll have to use those mines alot more. I never even considered it previously. Not sure why Thanx for the good tips!

I got the Humpback again!!!! And I should point out that the better load out for it, in stead of sunblasts, I think is Stealthblade I & II's. They have a much longer range that the sunblasts and a little faster muzzle velocity. So you can hit em sooner that they can hit you. Also, I have an EMP and a Homing missle launcher mounted up front.

I made the run fron New Berlin to New Tokyo (diamonds) and then New Tokyo to The Ring (niobium) and made 545500 in profit in one round trip. That's 2182 profit per unit!!!
