Level 9 weapons - Anti shield

Level 9 weapons - Anti shield

What's the best level 9 weapon that does the most damage against shields? And where can I get it?

Tizona Del Cid, Tripoli Shipyard in Omicron Gamma or Cadiz Base in Omega-5. You have to be very friendly with the Corsairs for them to sell it to you.

Geez, I've seen a bunch of threads with weapon stats and buy locations... could really use a sticky for 'em.

you only really need one of 'em. It will rip through the hull of any ship in one or two shots..that is, if you use it in conjunction with some nice c10 weapons..

Yup. One Tizona Del Cid along side a Kraken2 and four Nomad Blasters is a really good loadout. All hull damage weapons match in fire rate, distance and speed and the Tizona makes quick work of shields. I strafe an incoming wave of four when they're bunched up and, if my shootin' eye is on that day, I pretty much take out all their shields in the first pass. Then it's easy money.

I don't really run this house, but I have an understanding with the woman who does.

The Kraken particle guns have a projectile speed of 700m/s, while the Nomad Blasters and TDC have a speed of 600m/s. You'd probably be better off with a Salamanca Mk II which has a speed of 600m/s. Also, the Blasters, like all c10 guns, have a range of 699m, which is 99m more than the TDC or the Sal II, so it's up to you to remember to bring the target within 600m, because the targetting indicator will show up at 699m.

heavy weapons are useless if they are slow prjectiles.. i prefer fast projectiles high fire rate the range.. is compromiseable... though the damage is minimal but at least they dont miss...

argh.. im never gonna get paid.. goodbye a million credits..

1 Tizona Del Cid, 1 Cannonball launcher, 2 DIAMONDBACKs, 2 SILVER FIREs(they look like diamondbacks and the lower damage really makes zero difference anyway), ripper mines, and a Hornet/Sunslayer. That's a layout. Nomad weapons are for sissies who can't manage power consumption.

nomads aint for sissys coz sissy wouldent be albe to get nomad weapon

and the best lay out for a ship 2 tizona del cids and 2 nomad cannons and 2 nomad blaster and a sunslayer im and untouchable

well, what-dya-know. I just happen to use a combination of both your load outs: 1 tizona, 1 salmanca mkII, 2 cerebus(it has the exact same characteristics as the diamondbacks, but I just liek the way it looks better) and 2 nomad cannon. Oh, and a sunslayer and salmanca turret..even though both don't have much practical use; I just bought the sunslayer 'cause it's the most powerful in the game

meh, i prefer SkyBlast Type B's...fast refire (8.33) and they only do a little less damage than the best cl10 weps (2150 hull dmg in one second with diamondbacks, 2032 hull dmg in one sec with skyblasts) plus they have good range and fast projecile speed. I hit almost every shot with them, compared with the 25% or so of the shots i hti with my cl10's

Well, as I've mentioned elsewhere, the pessimistic view of high refire rate weapons is that they give more chances to miss, rather than more chances to hit. The faster projectile speed issue, however, is one that's hard to argue, as the chance is higher for your target to have jinked away from your otherwise-perfectly-aimed-shot with slower projectiles. But, since the TDC is 600m/s, you're motivated to use other 600m/s guns along with it...

After visiting almost all of the wrecks in sp - which is a good way to pick up weapons by the way - particularly if you're trying to be neutral, then going and playing with the nomads..... I now have a hold full of level 10 weapons. I have tried them all in various combinations in my Eagle - my current loadout:

2 x Wrym type 2
4 x Nomad cannons
Skyblast A Turret - (plus about 4 other turrets I’ve collected along the way)
Starkiller Torpedo
Ripper mine

Refire rate and range for all the guns is the same 3.03 and 700 M the only variation is the projectile speed of the Nomad cannons is 600 not 700.

Don't care if nomads are for sissy’s, when you are afterburning straight at 'em at doesn't matter much

Maybe some people LIKE running out of power fast. Makes you think a bit more in combat instead of just holding the trigger down and hosing bullets all over the place.
