If anything I have 3x more hostile then I do friendlys. I have 26-27 hostiles one neutral and the rest freindly. I have about 9 friendlys and those are all the enemy groups, but couple of enemy groups are hostile towards me though i don't know why. The neutral base is the Zoners and all my hostiles are police militarys navys and also any of those small bussiness like synth foods or img and i have a blast killing them all

ChOpsTiCkZ:
...has anyone been able to get their rep for any faction the entire way up or down? I mean... if you notice (or maybe it's just me), there's always one little box left in the meter, it never gets all the way full...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have Liberty Navy (or Police, think Navy though) max green with a blinking border around it. I assume this means they are so impressed with my good character that I could take their daughters out for whiskey shots and then for a romp in the orgy chamber... and the elders would just smile as their babes finally return home a bit sore but REALLY really happy...

I'm LVL36 and going for Neutral+_2_ALL to explore the universe.
Presently I am Green with 16 factions, and Red with only Four.
Enemies 2, 3, & 4 are by choice: Xenos, Mollys, & Red Hessians.
But at the top of the list, I am Public Enemy #1 to the...
Bundschuh. Bundschuh? Go figure.

The following is from an interview betwen TLR and DA (pre-release) :
(I added the bold..)
TLR: How large of a friendly fire threshold do NPCs have?
DA: Not much. And they don’t really care if it’s an accident or not. There’s not much patience for poor shooting in the Sirius system, and boy do they get really mad! This is actually an important element of the game, and can be used to modify your reputation. Word of warning, you can’t get everyone to like you, but you can get everyone to hate you . Be warned.
Check out the page here
So, no all green but all red is possible? Seeing is believing....

I got everything but Mollys, Junkers, and Unioners neutral or friendly with me...(the vast majority being friendly, including corsairs, outcasts, bundschuh, dragons, hessians, and all the house lawfuls/corps except GMG)
Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Some carzy bug happened in my game after I used the "lancer thing" downloaded from this site - but I don't know if it's related or not.
All factions were neutral. Every single one of them. Amazing, isn't it?
It's bad to trade, because every single pirate will demand cargo.
But at least you can visit and land on every single base in the game.

Someone from FL makers said that you can't be friendly with everyone in game. This is not true. You can be a friend to everyone. I am. No cheating. Here is how (single player):
1) Take a good ship (Titan/Sabre), shield level 10 and nomad guns. Salamanca Mk II turret and Tiazona del Cid will be nice to have too. For this you have to be in good terms with Corsairs.
2) Earn some money for bribes. $2.000.000 should be enough . You can do this at Crete, flying for Corsairs. They have good prices and hard missions. This can help you in 1).
3) Start flying missions killing Outcasts, Corsairs and Xenos.
Don't care about GMG, IMG, Unioners, Rouges, Mollys, Zoners and Bounty Hunters. Just don't let them become hostile. Make everyone as "green" as you can, however don't waste time if your reputation is about 8 blocks to the right. If nesessery, bribe companies and police.
4) Start killing only Xenos. The best place for this is Beaumont(Texas). This will slowly rise your rep with most criminals, Outcasts, Corsairs, Hessians, Mollys, Bounty Hunters, Rouges ect. It is rather long and boring procedure (easy missions).
5) You loose with Bundschuh and Hogosha (and some police), so sometimes you will have to go and fly a mission for them. Take only missions to destroy base only, and after kaboom just run away. Don't kill fighters. Leave/enter bar or station if no such missions.
6) Don't care about Zoners, you can bribe them anytime. This way you can make all "green" except Xenos.
7) Go to Tau 37 and start killing Zoners near Freeport. Make your rep -5,5 blocks to the left. Don't go any further and make them hostile! Just run away when done. Leave the system and then return to Freeport. Find 3 people offering you bribe for Zoners at the SAME TIME. Buy ALL of them. You may have to leave/enter bar for several times to find 3 bribes.
Repeat 7) to make Xenos happy. This also will max your rep with GMG & IMG.
The space is now all friendly (at high level) so you can go explore bases, buying high level weapons and listening interesting rumors. Better your rep is, better rumors will be and better weapons you will be able to buy. Or you can choose to fly missions for any faction you want. You can also make a BIG money flying a frighter, no one will try to shoot you or ask for cargo drop. All the game is however little boring from that point.
BTW, In a ship like 1) you don't need friends.
How to make a mission without any killing:
Take a mission from Mollys at Molly asteroid field. Just wait for enemies to blow themselves up in mines. Instant fun.
