Thanx for BEST trade route! (4Mil/hour)

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I really dont need to trade i got 999999999 when i first started the game...

Well, I knew about the LD14 thing, but I couldn't remember the prices, and for some reason the new version of the cargo computer doesn't list it.

Thought it was simpler to come up with numbers I could confirm rather than go "er, yeah, you can sell it there, but I dunno how much for..."

Right... another problem in the new FCC data just surfaced in the "NEW TRADE ROUTE - (Same System, 1.8mil/hr)" thread... I just sent Darren, the FCC author, with correct data. I hope he chooses to use it... as they said in Indiana Jones 3, "choose wisely" The LR site's data is in pretty good shape... only 16 errors (out of 6118 datapoints)... I wrote Christian Koerner Tuesday but he has yet to fix them, shrug.

How do you do this? I keep getting attacked by Hessians/Unioners/Corsairs.

How did you become friends with them?

This run is very profitable and very dangerous. I suggest you have a very, very heavy ship. As soon as I jumpinto New Berlin I am ambushed by the whole damn Red Hessain fleet. The same goes for the Corsairs as soon as I leave Yohxxx? Base in Sigma 13. Offcoure they can't fade me but still it gets rather annoying after a while.

By the way on one run I was jumped by 6 Corsairs flyings TITAN'S! Yes, I was like "ah ****!" :/ I was able to kill 4 before I had to escape. Needless to say those ships are very tough.

to Alpha:

You don't need a ship with heavy firepower (read: very small cargo holds) to run that route.

The nice thing about Yanagi is that you can find a lot of bribes there. If you are having trouble with the Corsairs in that vicinity and someone in the bar offers you a bribe with the Corsairs, TAKE IT! As long as you can bribe the Corsairs you are good for that route (so they don't hound you all the way to and from Yanagi and the jump hole to New Berlin). That also clears you to go to the Corsair systems later on to pick up either an Eagle or a Titan when you have made enough money.

I have no problems running the Red Hessian blockade with a Humpback or Dromedary when coming out of the jump hole into New Berlin-- The trade lane gate is to your left. Click on it the first thing you come out of the hole to lock on, then Just afterburn and jink like crazy towards the trade lane and dock into it at full speed. Occasionally I had to expend a few shield batteries but that's it. Once you dock into the trade lane to Planet New Berlin you leave the Red Hessians in your dust and you are pretty much home free (ANYBODY can get past the cops if they scan you, heh heh).

It kind of defeats the purpose of running that route if you are flying anything other than a Humpback or a Dromedary. The purpose is to maximize the amount of profit per trip, and you can't do that if you don't have a ship with LOTS of cargo space. Fuggetaboutit if you are going to run the route in a dinky little fighter.

$10 million in a bit over two hours... Enough to bribe the entire Sirius sector into your back pocket. (feigning Mafia Don accent) Dat's the cost of doin' bidness ya know, capice?

How can you get weapons from shot down enemy fighters ??

The best i get is scrap-metal , some oxygen or a thruster, but nothing really valuable.

It all depends on the level of opposition. If you're taking on Liberty Rogues, you won't drop very much of any use, but when you start going up against the more difficult ememies, they stuff they drop getsa lot better.

Another cheap way of upgrading your firepower is tracking down derelict ships (there's a list of them on this forum, and in the LR Universe Guide). A lot of those carry decent weaponry. Shoot the wreck and tractor in the goods. If you're at the "Bretonia" stage of the game, try looking for the wrecks of the Corsair raiding party in Omega-7. They carry Angelito MK Is that offer some pretty decent firepower. Be careful though, the area they are in is in an area of explosive gas pockets, so get in, and get out as fast as possible.

Haven't seen this one posted before:

Freeport 9 -- Buy Alien Organisms @ $400
Jump to Omega 41
Jump to Omega 5
Jump to Cambridge (Jump hole is near Camb. Research Station)

Sell A. Org. for $2000. Gross Profit is $1600/unit---BUT:

You'll lose 4-6 units en route due to spoilage
and
Omega 41 radiation will sap some nanobots & require some hull repair.

Still, this is a sweet, short route.

Another interesting route for early on in the game

Run Boron from Newark New York (155) to Stokes mining station Leeds (900) = 745 profit

Then Beryllium from Stokes (300) back to Newark (960) = 660 profit, 1405 per round trip

Only done this once, not sure on time or number of gates though, probably longer than these other ones but safer 'cos the areas are easier

Post Thu Apr 24, 2003 7:56 pm

Check page 2, I posted almost that exact trade run

If you sell the boron at LD14 (one trade lane over) you make more profit. On the way back, sell the beryilium at Pueblo Station, and you'll also make a bit of extra profit too. It's a very good route for a beginner. However, it can get a bit hectic in the Bretonian side of the trip, so stay alert and get a decent defensive setup, or preferably go in a convoy (3 well-armed frieghters are a far tougher target than 1).

If you want a safe trade route I got just about the safest that it can come. This would mainly be for when you are just starting out but you can make a decent profit with the Drone. And you might as well buy some Luxary goods from somewhere(Manhattan or Denver has good price and is on the way if you just starting).

Anyways, make your way to the Honshu system and sell the luxary goods you picked up for a profit around 700 credits depending where you bought them from. Then buy engine components and head to deshima station. Sell them for a profit of 194 credits per unit and buy super conductors and return to Honshu to sell them for a profit of 220 credits per unit.

If you just starting out you should have absolutly no enemies to worry about and once you ready to leave you have access to my favourite LF, the Hawk.
