How sad... I don't know... Why do people attack us like this?

This is not and was never intended as an unmoderated forum. And that is basicly what we do... We moderate. We try to keep a postive spirit about the game, and yes, I do single out negative posts about the game, consider each one very seriously if it works, if the arguments have merit in any imaginable way.

We are far from the official website of Freelancer... Hell, I would also want Freelancer (or for all that matters XYZ game I spent money on) to be more, be better and blow everything else away.

But Freelancer is not the end-of-all gaming. And I pay for the site here. I spent 4 hours/day avarage on this site, and maybe I should stop moderating the forums?!? Should we develop a different kind of moderation?

Lemme hear a few responses on this, since I'm afraid the title will draw a crowd to this thread... And I'm paying for sletting somebody call me a Nazi, which in my book is about the worst thing you could EVER call me!

This thing actually made me consider for a few seconds closing down the site, just so you know...

Anthroplasm get the hell out of here if you have a problem! TLR is the best fansite or any official site I have ever been to and if you don’t like how Bargib or anyother mod runs this site then don’t come back it is that simple.

No, Bargib... As I have said, it is fine just the way it is... otherwise, if you give in to those guys, The Forum will be degraded to endless debat and TROLLING!!!!!! and personal flame war. etc...

Of course, what you and Mods do __may__ have faults, but not even remotely close to be called as NAZI!!! I saw some people make fun of you, and you still took it sportively. Look at other people's comments, many many many many people stand BY YOU!!!!

Well, I guess there are ppl that over react when their oppinions and posts get forbidden/closed/deleted at a site they visit. Aswell I guess half of such provactiv posts are written that way to draw attention. I don´t think that this is the right way to express their anger, but well, you ask for a reason (how irrational it might be).

Its good that this is not an ummoderated forum. It´s aswell good that you try to try to keep the possitiv spirit about the game.
What I personal think is simple wrong, is that nearly ANY critics against the game get bashed down, from some of ppl that really are fanatic about the game, and that it seems that some of the mods seem to mix their mod duty with their personal stand about the game, and that aswell some of the regulars shout down anyone that thinks there are thinks that make the game not perfekt.

But well I guess you know anyway how I feel about this mess, cause stinger should send you copys of the "little talk" I had with him.

I like TLR, but its definatly in my book not the best gaming site I ever visit, for example all of the german gamingo community sites for blizzards games (bw, d2, wc3, wow), have a more professional look, a greater and it seems more experience mod and admin team and greater and more acitve community (several thausend posters on the boards). But well, this are proffesional sites, sites that have I guess a good deal more money to spend and are about games that simply have until now a better sales numbers. And well, beeing about games from blizzard I guess helps aswell, as blizzard is imo one of those companys that are relativ huge and still have a real good support and contact to their fans and fansites.

This does not make TRL a bad site, TRL is definatly a damn good site, else I would not like to visit it nearly daily, and even in the years before nearly weekly, so I simply post this to bring your post in junction with the bigger picture of sites in the internet.

@ Bargib: Never forget: for every person that openly disses your stile of moderating, there are at least 5 others who like it the way it is

God, I remember simpler times, when video games were about FUN and ENJOYMENT. If you hate FL, then don't play it. Nobody here can stop you, though I wouldn't let any community dictate whether I was going to play a game. In fact the X2 community largely turns me off yet I plan to buy it as soon as it's out.

@ Bargib, don't change anything. I've been on these forums for 3 years now. I've been a moderator on a forum for a while and I know how hard it is. Whatever you do, you won't do any good in someone's eyes. I really admire you dedication for your fans and for the game. Don't let one troll make you think different. If you close this site, it'll be a major setback for the FL and SL community. We had( and have fun). Remember Bargib's Barbie makeover? The MS contests and hitting the 1 million mark. We achieved all this because of you! We all love you in a non sexual way (as Major Striker should say). Just hold on to the current moderating strategy and TLR will be one of the best forums online (I'm serious)!

I think what Gib is saying Apoc is that you have to disuss the ins and outs of the game. You cant simply just give all negitave points and then not argue the postive points of the game. You have to find a happy medium to launch a disscussion. Must poeple are just saying "Freelancer is crap" then not say anything good about the game.

I hardly think a 100 poeple out of a million will change Bargibs mind about the site. That I'd say is a fact.
