You must realize that EA is a company full of opportunists. They ride a franchise as long as they can and then sit on it. Right now they are riding the MMORPG genre with the Ultima series. Once this wave dies down and becomes unprofitable they will pull Wing Commander from their pocket and ride it some more. Likely, when they do decide to do this the game will be a shadow of its former self. I'm pretty sure that just about anybody that truly cares about the wing commander franchise is gone from Origin (EA), so EA will be out to make some quick bucks and rush it out the door like they do with most of their products.

At least the spirit of the Wing Commander universe lives on in games like Starlancer and Freelancer. Hopefully Chris Roberts will come back to games one day and pry the rights to WC from the claws of those money grubbing stiffs at EA. lol...not that I dislike EA or anything

@Kivuli, Hobbes wasn't a Traitor to either side, not really anyway. The Hobbes we see in WC2 and in the start of WC3 wasn't real. It was a Construct, the result of a Idenity Overlay program. Meaning that Hobbes was a Sleeper Agent, when a Trigger was sent, the Real Hobbes would take over, and do his duty as a Kilrathi

I went after Hobbes too. Then when I got back and found out that Vaquero was dead I felt bad. Cobra and Vaquero were my favorite wingmen in WC3. I also thought it was a little cheezy how Hobbes was bad. It would have great if Maniac was the traitor and then you got to finally kill him.

I like Maniac. He was certanily annoying but he was skilled and funny a lot of times. Remember when you go into the locker in WC3 and he's reading Playboy, and what he says when you leave? Heh. Oh, and when he asks the bar if anybody's heard of "The Maniac" and there is deafening silence...

Over on the WC CIC Forums, there was thread about who could have been the Traitor, if Hobbes wasnit it. Someone Suggested Cobra, saying that she was Help Captive by the Kiltathi during her Childhood, and that they could have "Programmed" Her to be a Traitor

Well that wouldn't be that good since you play Blair. I for one don't wont to be a Traitor. I know you kinda become a Traitor in WC IV, but that's different, you're fighting to save the Confederation from a Mad Man.
