Extremists are in every religion. What about inquisition in the middle ages? The thing is: There are pretty much muslim extremists those days.

This seems to be leaning toward a polical discussion. We all appear saddened by this event, and we all have our own personal pains and deal with them in our own way.
In the tree of life, the branches represent our immediate family, the leaves represent our friends (who come and go with the seasons but provide us with strength and energy), the roots represent our anscestors that will always be there regardless of the direction our tree grows. Maybe in instances like this these astronauts were like a beautiful visiting bird that comes to sit on our branches and brightens our day, though we may just become used to their presense, we're a little saddened when that beautiful bird leaves our tree for parts unknown...
