I dunno who gave me this link, but it was amusing to read through it.

The guy quotes sources and links to back up the myth busting
I still use firefox though, haven't used IE for ages - not since i last needed to do some FTP action and didn't have a free FTP program installed

think it's rubbish, I've been forced to use it and work at it won't load up the home page if you change as much as a single setting unless you quit out of it, kill the IE process, then restart it. Useless piece of junk. So after much whining and cursing on my part, my boss relented and said I could use Firefox (then went and installed it himself when he saw how much better it was than that Internet Exploder bilge.)
Sounds to me like someone is trying to blame his crappy build and poor network management on unrelated software.
crappy build? poor network management? I'm not Esquilax, you know! My build quality is top dollar A-Number 1 as you know full well, and my network management is superb. Full gigabit duplex, leased lines, all Cisco kit, properly segmented networks; it's not a load of peer-to-peer connected by a plethora of 10/100 hubs like yours probably is; mind you you're so drunk all the time you probably think your comms room is a nice secluded place to sleep, or a psychedelic toilet.
Hey all I know is that flashing disco of network collision lights on your 'properly' segmented network isn't causing my copy of IE7 to hang and crash. Pfft for all know your gang of trained monkey's probably have blocked traffic to 443 and have one daisy chained gigabit line running around the floor from desktop to desktop with everybody playing a game of 'Whose got the token?"

well you're right on one thing... "for all you know" is indeed the operative statement. Quantified as being "not very much" that is. Do you think i have everything running unencrypted on port 80 then? and away with your token ring! it's not 1986 you know, although that was probably the last time you were sober.
Don't listen to him Musty. Not only is he trying to cover up his use of TR, he is also trying to avoid discussing the type and quality of his network cables. "Gigabit" is an obvious lie, as I have it on the best authority that old Mullah-boy is actually running 10Base2! I also know what Taw is getting for Christmas... a crimping tool, some BNC connectors and a couple of 10Mbps "combo" NICs so that he can upgrade to CAT 3 (CAT 5 if he is lucky) within the next few years. Indeed, his network is quite backward, and this is evident because not even Esquilitavia uses 10Base2 anymore. *Shakes head* Very sad.
