Time To Play...Name That Game!!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Since the gaming industry has grown in size w/ all those cutsences, gameplay outlooks, cheap tricks and what not. i think it is time we have quiz on games from are looooooooong past. the rules are the same as name that movie.

You know, I think it's really border lining on the rules when posting "Gay game". I, personally, hate the term used incorrectly. It really doesn't say much for how mature you are. Try stupid instead of gay, I think it gives the same point you are trying to push across

Unfortunetly I don't know the name of the game you're talking about. Never was an N64 fan.

Welcome to TLR.

I was hoping that someone would create a thread like this, but I thought that it would be based on quotes. For example, one poster would provide a quote such as "You're alive! Thank God for that Hazard Suit!" and the other posters would have to guess which game it was from. Still, you're idea has merit .

Typical would-be god behavior. Stick whiskered nose into someone else's thread and tell how they should have set it up in the first place.

These chimera are really pushy aren't they?

Post Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:03 pm

We chimaeras try to make life better for all, and what happens when one of them makes a simple and innocuous statement? The Deputy in charge of the "Anti-Rabbit, Anti-Chimaera Lobbying Group" (aka Indy) emerges from the shadows and calls them "pushy"! I resent that! I am not pushy? Who says I am? You? Huh? Punk? *Pokes Indy with a claw and walks off feeling misunderstood and then writes a brief mental note to make a rare appearance on MSN on Monday morning (Sunday night Edwardian time) and abuse whoever is online (hopefully the Deputy)*

stop polluting this poor mans thread you wascawy wabbit you!

as for the game i don't have a clue as i only own a PC.

Post Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:50 pm

But I'm innocent! It was that Indy guy! Fine! *Walks off kicking can and then comes back* Well, while people are thinking about that N64 game, I'll provide a PC query. Hmm... an easy one to start with I think.

Platform: PC
Year: 1999
Genre: FPS
Description: One of the first *true* multiplayer FPSes, this game was very popular in its time and, despite having little to no plot, was also very popular in single player mode. It was also a sequel to another more story-based FPS by the same company which was also one of the first to incorporate multiplayer "Deathmatch" games with either people or bots. This game's primary online competitors at the time were "Counter-Strike" and "Quake III".

That last one should make it easy .

Not much of an FPS player, but I'll venture to say Doom.

Post Thu Dec 01, 2005 9:38 pm

Unreal Tournament?

As for the N64 game, i can honestly say i have NO idea

Post Fri Dec 02, 2005 3:33 am

Dawg - Nice try, but Doom was made a few years earlier .

Arania - Correct. Good ole UT, eh? Your turn.

Post Fri Dec 02, 2005 4:26 am

OK my turn

Platfrom C
Genre: Space Comabat Sim
Date: 1999
Quoate from Game: "A famous poet once said, for there are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your Pilosaphy"

ok...
i wonder if people will get this one... one of my personal favourites.

Platform: PC
Year: 1995
Genre: Strategy, Turn-Based
Description: An incredibly immersive space-based strategy game, famous for the incredible level of micromanagment required in order to prevail against oter players. it was predominatley multiplayer, with the included singleplayer AI being rather inadequate for the experienced player. It has a well-adapted play-by-email system, and due to it's punitive system requirements, has become approximately 16 times faster in it's old age. Games can typically last weeks, or even months, with up to 16 players. Although the graphics are rather punitive, and not even 3-D rendered, the game does have merits as an 'old-school' strategy, requiring foresight much like a game of chess.
I am looking for the full name, inclusive of punctuation.
