Ehhh! Musty old chum! Glad am I that you have returned. Your support and rhetoric is, as always, appreciated
. Together, we will defeat the evil ex-Mullah. Hey, do you want to take over control of Tawakalnistan (now called Esquilaxistan)? We could call it "Mustantopistan"
.
Well, better late than never as they say (bloody timezones!). Yes, the 1,000 post milestone has been reached. This is truly a glorious day for the Rabbit-King, his supporters and his subjects. It is truly a testament to the animal magnestism of the Great Chimaera, as well as the commendably long attention spans possessed by the regular posters in this thread, as well as those lurkers still following it (you know who you are).
Of course, I can by no means take all the credit. We couldn't have arrived at this point without the dedicated posting of many others including the not-so mysterious (except to ff
) "Tors", Druid, Para, Jask, Final, Jaggy, and of course Indy and Taw among many others. Yes, this is truly a symbol of the sort of rampant spamming that is permitted, nay encouraged, by the OT forum here on TLR. I hope that you are all as proud of this accomplishment as I am, as well as depressed as I am when I consider the number of hours that have been spent posting here
. In honour of this occasion, I will do my best to craft another poem, but this one will be about this thread. Hmm, it's not easy... Alright, try this. *Ahem*
"An Ode to a Thread (on TLR)"
(Better title pending)
"A thread was created in 2005,
Posted by a man who had been locked out,
For many months the thread continued to thrive,
Detailing war between Rabbit and lout.
Over days and months the war persisted,
Supported by bird and occasionally jugged hare,
Despite the Mullah's forces the Rabbit resisted,
Inspiring his followers with oration and flare.
During this time Parabolix was present,
Posting anti-rabbit sentiment in postings large,
His opinions the Rabbit began to resent,
But then Parabolix did vanish, like a mirage.
Month after month the war dragged on,
With assistance offered by Indy and Druid,
The Mullah fighting with automatic weapon,
The Rabbit subsisting on fermented fluid.
The Rabbit's army fought with religious zeal,
While the Mullah's army fought out of fear,
The rabbits the Mullah's favourite meal,
The Tawakalnist's a pain in the rabbits' ear.
It was at this time that allegations were made,
The Rabbit offended at links draw to "Tors",
'I'm not "Tors" you fools, leave me be!" he bade,
The Rabbit and protested with barely a pause.
A time soon came in which the battle was won,
The Mullah forced to flee to a sunny resort,
Esquilaxistan was formed and war there was none,
While the Mullah kicked back with an occasional retort.
It was at this time that the Rabbit-God did perish,
Replaced by a Rabbit-King crowned through Divine Right,
A sad event to many, for he was a God that they did cherish,
But the Rabbit himself obtained many a knight.
Soon however, the thread did reach immense proportion,
Attracting a Llama and occasional lurkers,
And so this author must speak a word of caution,
The battle must continue, for rabbits hate burqas."
Take that, feeble imitators!
If I have missed any significant events, let me know and I will add them.
ff - *Sighs and shakes head sadly, and hopes that ff really is joking*
"Tors" - Happy birthday to you and your "secret friend"
.
