Time to play...Name That Movie!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

aah but that last one is an absolute classic

I can only quote from films I love - due to my obsession with rewatching movies. But I can recognise more.

Post Mon Nov 14, 2005 4:26 pm

Simple one - "I don't break law, I AM the Law!"

Med one - "I feel the need, the need for speed"

Hard one - "Come on Rae, it's not like I'm proposing marrage" *Hint - The name Bronx, comes up often*

Post Mon Nov 14, 2005 6:03 pm

Simple: Luke, I am your father.

Medium: Do you really have the..the..the..the scar.

Hard: I am the villan of the story.

very hard: But tell me, am I not turtlely enough for the turtle club. Turtle turtle.

super hard: Maybe we should give her a part in the show.

"...for lonely lovers on a cooool cooool night"

Unfortanatly, Grom, it doesn't sound familiar, though that doesn't mean I may nothave seen the movie. There are about 30 movies that I have seen 30 or more times, I know those well, others, not so well.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 5:34 am

trekkie, too easy, thats Dark Helmet in Spaceballs is it not?

fd - the answers to the first 2 of yours are 1. Judge Dredd (although I think the actual line was "I AM ther leerrrrr" ) and 2. Top Gun. The third has me stumped though.

the clue for my quote is ...15 years before Glenn Close boiled a bunny, this film featured some great footage that was filmed live at the Monterey Jazz Festival.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 5:55 am

when you first mooted it, I was thinking of Play Misty for Me. is it that? gosh that's quite difficult, prob the hardest so far.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 6:28 am

The third was from Medicine Man with Sean Connery and lorrane Brocco, he called her bronx.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:31 am

@Taw - spot on matee. The full quote being of course "Misty...for lonely lovers on a cooool cooool night". Another one of my favourite movies...reminds me of my dad (used to watch it together)

@fd - of course! blimey that *was* hard!

ok an easy one..following the theme...(one of my favourite quotes)...

"Nothing like a nice piece of hickory"

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:42 am

lordy I got that, and no googles! I haven't even seen the film for over 20 years. You did give it to us though with that last clue. I could picture trhe scene and hear the voice but i just wasnt sure about which film it was until then.

pah, your next one is again from the easy-movie-quotes-book-ofreally-easy-questions: Pale Rider. need i say more?

about time I did one..

"Life isn't like in the movies. Life... is much harder."

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:58 am

I know that the Pale Rider quote was easy, but i fell in love with that line the second i first heard it.

As for misty - damn good guess considering you haven't seen it for so long! I know the clue was a bit of a giveaway, but people were beginning to struggle with it.

No bells ringing on your quote - any chance of a clue?

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 10:02 am

*Cocking rifle sound* "Your illegally tresspasing on Indian land" 1st person
"We got the law here, Billy" 2nd person
Name that movie. It cost less than $300,000 to make.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 10:34 am

@grom, no not yet, try harder

@FD, I can't name the film but I know which one it was, that early 70s thing made on the cheap about Indian rights, campus riots, and the Army are involved somehow and it gets all mad and spiritual. Haven't seen that for decades. The main guy did a few films in this genre iirc.

Post Tue Nov 15, 2005 11:14 am

@taw - my wife just told me what film your quote is from. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen that movie (yeah yeah, i know, call yourself a film fan, blah blah ). I won't reveal yet - I want to see if anyone else here gets it. I'll give it 24 hours and then post the answer if no-one else knows.

Is it *that* good a movie?
