Time to play...Name That Movie!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

sorry chap - missed your last posts -

the connection is Mr Stephen Dillane - he played Henderson in Welcome to Sarajevo and the annoying policman in the Parole Officer.

I wasn't a fan of the movie either - I really wanted it to be good, being a fan of Alan Partridge etc, but it really wasn't. Coogan should never have gone to the big screen imo.

Your turn I believe?

oh I've got a belter....

first person: I will never allow my daughters to marry into this jungly family of half-breeds!

second person: Well they may be half-bred, but at least they're not fr*ggin' inbred like those two monstrosities!

title please, and connection to The Parole Officer, are what I require.

"I will chase him around Perditions flames be I give him up!"

For Taw, East is East, the tie in, "Om Puri"

The odds of it being shown in the US is 0

Thats Vanilla Sky...most obvious connection being Mr Tom "pout a lot" Cruise.

Okedokee...easy link...

"I'm not interested in you, or your novel, or any other pathetic ambition you have to change your miserable, mundane existence"

A Life less Ordinary? Cameron Diaz shoorly...

ok next one, linking to Vanilla Sky..

"To me you were and always will be, whether male or female, the pink, the pearl, and the perfection of your sex"

it's a giveaway for the well-read! title and link please. there is also a clue in of my recent threads!

not a sniff of even a guess? ok here's a clue; the person in question was a close friend of British director Derek Jarman and appeared in many of his films. Also has a major part in big-budget film thats about to be released.

nope sorry dude, you've totally stumped me with that one. Is it mainstream? A classic? In all honesty, I haven't got a clue...the quote really doesn't ring any bells.

Post Sat Nov 26, 2005 5:31 am

it's from Virginia Woolf's Orlando, dir by Sally Potter, the quote is by John Wood to Orlando as played by Tilda Swinton who played Rebecca Dearborne?[sp} in Vanilla Sky, and who herself gives this quote "Most of us live our whole lives... without any real adventure to call our own" which is thematically linked to a Life Less Ordinary!

Tilda Swinton also plays Jadis the White Witch in Narnia.

so, now you have to link the above to a quote of your own choice have fun!

Here's a pretty simple one (though funny). as it's 11 pages, I ain't too sure if it's already been posted, but..

"What are you going to do, bleed on me?"

Post Sat Nov 26, 2005 4:07 pm

oh nutts, one I finally recognise and I cannot remember what film and who said it.

Post Sat Nov 26, 2005 7:26 pm

Kendo's quote is from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", and is spoken by Arthur in reference to the armless black knight.

Post Mon Nov 28, 2005 5:00 am

First man - "I can see you"

2nd Man - "You can't win!"

A hard one with the lines used.

If you can't get it with those,

Man - I'm ok, but your going to have to drive."

Out of turn, but i just saw this brilliant fil again and thought this was good:

"Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part"
