Ginger Beer

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Ginger Beer

I had my first Ginger Beer over the weekend... It was pretty good.

A "World Market" just opened up in the area were I live and they sell it there, it is the first place I have seen that sells it.

Thanks to this forum, I have heard enough about it to peek my interest so that i bought a 4 pack.

Thanks Esky

"Well, I see your Schwartz is as big as mine."

It's funny because it is my last name.

Isnt Ginger Beer same as Root Beer?

Post Tue Nov 01, 2005 4:53 pm

My question is: is it alchoholic? (Yes, I have forgotten some of the preachings of the rabbit god). I live in the middle of a circle of about 40 World Markets, so chances are one of them has it. I swear, they're on every corner.

Stormtrooper...Lol, Root Beer is like modern sarsaparilla Ginger Beer is probably more well known to you as Ginger Ale It comes in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic forms. I prefer the non-alky version, methinks its one of the best drinks around

P.S. - That's what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed.

His Rabbitness will be wrathful with you, for he insists that ginger beer and ginger ale are not the same thing; we've had many a rambling discussion regardingt he technicalities of these beverages. Why don't you ask him about the uniaq non-alcoholic fermentation process while you're at it!

Heathens! Ginger ALE and Ginger BEER are *completely* different beverages! Ginger Ale is a beverage made from carbonated water, food acid, flavours, and colours. It is primarily used as a mixer. Although cheaper GB is the same, proper GB is made from yeast, sugar, water, and ginger. It is a *brewed* product like beer, but it is not always alcoholic. Most GB is non-alcoholic, but if the fermentation process is altered slightly, then it can become alcoholic. The Rabbit-God's choice is Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Damn fine (non-alcoholic) stuff.

Topher - It's great isn't it? Welcome to "Flavour Country"! *Blesses Topher using the "Sign of the Rabbit"* .

Taw - Stop your baseless protestations! Don't you remember those emails that you sent me, begging for more ginger beer? Ah, the "Sweet Aftons" have affected his mind at last. *Shakes head sadly*

EDIT: The "unique" fermentation process has to do with the amount of sugar added to the plant as I recall. Scoff if you will Dervish!

I personally like the Ginger Ale, I agree it and the Ginger Beer are two different things, with a shot of sour in it.

The sour is used in alcholic drinks but I enjoy it just in the Ginger Ale. Its completly non-alcoholic and its tastes pretty damn good mixed with the stuff.

I do not know about the addition of "alkihole", but ginger ale is not too bad... in an emergency anyway . The quality varies though, as some the cheaper ginger ales are bloody average. The imported stuff is not bad usually not that I have it often. That's right people, you read correctly; imported ginger ale! Heard of "Canada Dry" anyone?

I as well am a fan of the ole Bundy Ginger Beer, not a fan of their other, more famous product, thier rum, but yeah. There is a world of difference in uses for GB and Ale, as most have said, Ale is a mixer used in a lot of alcoholic beverages, (scotch and Dry, Dark and Stormy, etc...) while ginger beer really can't be mixed well with anything, and needs to be enjoyed by itself.

God damn i feel like some GB now.

I'll check my archives, but I do not think that I kept them. Why would I delete such *useful* material? Because Taw swore me to secrecy about his GB habit months ago after his wife began bringing GB home from the local supermarket. And I respected his wishes *kicks self*. Ah well...

*Points at Jake* See? Now there is a man who, like Topher, is on the path to enlightenment!
