Guy trouble

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Men are obnoxious most of the time, or trying to get in our pants. Or trying to get us drunk. To achieve the latter.

No really.

Most lie. Most cheat. Almost all flirt. Most don't call their mothers enough. Most definitely don't treat their partners as well as they could, or spend enough time with their children (if they acknowledge them).

Don't get me wrong. There are 'some' good men out there, but they're usually older than thirty because they've done all the above, realised what j e r ks they've been, then try to make amends somehow (usually by leaving their current partner, finding someone else then lavishing them with attention / gifts).

Well, I do exaggerate a little. But only a little.

From my limited experience, the best way to 'keep' a man, is to:

Feed them
Bed them
Let them watch sport

Note I haven't mentioned what we get out of that kind of relationship (not a huge amount to mention anyway).

And boys.

The best way to keep a woman?

Figure it out. We're a little more complicated than that.

the best way to keep a woman: be there for her, listen to her...

The best way to keep a woman?

That, is the best challenge a guy can take up. An, the most rewarding.

Nice one athena, make massive generalisations about half the world's population from your limited perspective. I don't think you could do anything much stupider than that.

Channeling Gromit, are we?

Oh, and congrats to Balthazar. It sure is nice when things all work out, isn't it?

you sure about that?
i can cook myself (taking foods class in high school was a good idea)
i have a comfy bed

@ Athena...wow, it sounds like you've had some horrible experiences with men. But you still don't need to generalize...

Basically, men are different creatures than women. We feel more sexual attraction, are visually stimulated more than women, and are generally lazier. But that doesn't mean that all of us are going to base a relationship on sexual attraction or be selfish pigs in any relationship. There are a lot of men I know who would never dream of being that kind of person in their marriages/relationships.

Basically, I hope that you find a man that you deserve. They do exist *Hugs *

Edit:

...they're usually older than thirty..
That is true enough, most are older than 30. I know a few who are in their twenties, and none in their teens. But give us time. We're stupid. A couple of decades, and we get the sense beaten into us .

Oh man, I recognise a Boricua Delight post when I see one.

Post Fri Mar 11, 2005 6:20 pm

I don't see why you bother Athena.

Post Fri Mar 11, 2005 6:23 pm

I did say 'most'.

And I stand (well, sitting) by what I said. I have a lot of male friends, but I know if I say the right/wrong thing, or give too much eye contact, or even just touch someone on the arm (I'm very tactile - hugs are nice) things tend to become complicated.

Then, when I try to explain I like being friends and nothing more, an accusation comes flying back along the lines of; "tease, flirt, stringing-me-along."

Besides, we all have our opinions and that doesn't make us 'stupid' does it? :p

(goes away to get more coffee)

Okay. Decided there weren't enough smileys in my post and I was coming across as a wicked witch-like harridan.

So.
