I had one where I emigrated to a town called Virginia in Australia (it probably doesn't exist) with a friend. It was a Wild West sort of town, but sections of it were modern.
Anyhoo, we got a mouldy room in a tavern, which we were allowed to keep so long as we participated in a scheme of the manager's- we made (along with some other guy, tall thin and quiet, I don't think he exists in reality) a band. It was a fairly decent, but not very successful pop music group. We didn't do much except pretend to play instruments and sign contracts while some people in a studio hundreds of miles away recorded the actual songs.
Anyway, after a bit the project collapsed and me and my friend (I was penniless, he had about $100) wandered the streets for a bit, after being very rude and drunken to the manager and being kicked out.
After an hour or two, we went into a Wild West style bar/restaurant. When we got inside, we noticed it was long, far longer than it was wide, like a train. The seats were very odd, with metal bars sticking out at all angles, forcing people to sit facing away from the people next to them.
After a bit the train/bar/restaurant started to accelerate at very high speed, the other people apparently not noticing, and it became very hard to stay in my poorly designed seat. Everyone seemed to be shouting and some were swearing, but not in a violent kind of way. I stood up, and suddenly started shaking violently (I think I did it in rl, too). At that point, I realised it was a dream, but decided to stick atound for a bit just to see what would happen. However, everything faded away and there I was in my bed.
This is one of two dreams I've had that really stuck in my mind. The other being a very surreal one involving a roundabout in my home town and Bart and Homer Simpson. I've had other "real" dreams, the most memorable being one where I had to hide in a place with the occassional similiarity to my home town from people in suits hunting me. There was a reason why they were but I have, alas, forgot. There was an utterly terrifying scene where I hid in a toilet cubicle and they nearly got me.
