Begins to quote TISM - Thunderbirds:
Borrowing from NGE:
There are more individuals than it is realised. There is the version of you in your mind, and the version of you in other's minds. Truly cool people have a high (not egotistical) view of themselves, while those who have a fear of the versions of themselves in other peoples minds are usualy less 'cool'
And the problem with being a shallow sellout:
My theory (stressing the MY in this, not everyone agrees with me) is that similar to a buddist one. The aquisistion of material goods on the basis of something as small as a label seems to show a lack of intelligence, and behaviour similar to sheep. Every time I see someone wearing a Nike, an adidas, or some other big brand label clothing, or some really tacky cliche-ed article of clothing, (hoodies are a prime example) i baa at them. they should know they are sheep.
So basically, it's a matter of ratios. Its basically like this:
P$ : QQ
where P$ = Price
and QQ = Quality and Quantity.
If the P$ is massivively larger than the QQ, then its not worth my purchase.
A brand label does not equal quality, unless you've got something like doctor martins or Rivers, which have been proven to last.
...... Ive gon off on a tangent here.... again
Now I dont have to worry about a thing
As long as someone else is pulling my strings
My Pop star can tell me what know,
I get my political views from the youth radio
I can join the queues outside restaurant chains,
I can do the mexican wave,
Just tell me whats in and I'll make sure I fit
Just herd me into the Mosh Pit.
