well i guess half of my jokes will need to be thrown out the window

don't worry final *rations in hand* i still use a modem

Post Thu Oct 14, 2004 4:20 pm

you know, final you may benefit to sticking to 56k

the company that my uncle got 56k dial up from stopped using it, and they upgraded him to Cable speed and he still gets to pay the same price he paid for 56k

Post Thu Oct 14, 2004 4:28 pm

That would be nice, but not betting on it yet. $14.95 a month unlimited use is worth a little slowness.

Indy - All I know is that if, by some miracle, I exceed 16GB in a month, I am charged for the excess ($9/GB ) at the end of the month along with my monthly fee. I would have preferred to pay for six months in one lump sum, but what can you do?

Final - I miss my modem already *sniff*.

** laughs at Esky for having to use 56K modem for so long. Then strokes Charter Communications Broadband modem.** So here I go, HA HA HA! But it's good to know your coming into the 21st century.

and what the hell does bandiwth mean??

Post Fri Oct 15, 2004 1:58 pm

@Killa: Bandwidth refers to how much information can be transferred through a network. The higher the bandwidth, the more information can be transferred. Ergo, you get faster connections with DSL, or Cable than you do with 56k modems, because they have higher bandwidth. If you have no bandwidth restrictions, your internet connection will be instantaneous for the most part. So, the more bandwidth the better. If I got something wrong here, please tell me.

Taw, Ale is a darker sronger beer, so itstands to reason that
ginger ale, is just more gingery

Post Fri Oct 15, 2004 6:18 pm

I asked that question a while back and as I recall, the tweed jacketed (suede elbowed) volvo driver said something to the effect that ginger ale is a mass produced carbonated beverage that is made with ginger flavoring today whereas ginger beer is made the old fashioned way by method of fermentation which, of course, he maintains does not yield any alcohol.... and most certainly is NOT the reason why he prefers ginger beer.
