Earlier, it was posted that global warming effects are on the increase. Also, the hurricane paths were projected to point more and more towared the north. Although Ivan seems not to have heard about it...

It's difficult to tell whether the changes in temperature are directly due to pollution and the greenhouse effect or whether we're just going through another slight wobble in the earths orbit (the same cause behind the ice ages). Or even if both are making a contribution. If it is just a slight wobble in the Earth's orbit though, it could start to get colder again in 10 years time?

Hey everyone we survived...it was such a wussy storm though...but the 10 hours of winds kinds sucked a little. We got our power last night around like 7ish i think and well it is great ot have AC again!!!

Well everything is goin well....but S*** here comes that rat Bas**** Ivan!!! oh well i have a feelin he'll miss my area completely and either go a way north of Orlando or way west... but i doubt he'll tag us directly but who knows right? The weather is all screwey...hell the entire world is going to hell in a hand basket ya know.

Lucky man. I'm glad it turned out ok. if it gets worse in the next few years, and these huge storms become a regular thing, are you going to carry on living there?

Ivan is expected to make landfall monday night or tuesday morning on the west side of Flordia. At the moment shes a Cat. 4 hurrican but is expected to become a Cat. 5 within the next day or two. Last time i checked winds were somewhere around 145 or 150.

I hope that one steer clear of you again DS, I think the said somewhere around Tampa for this one.

Damn, man. Florida's gotta be hating this by now. Two Category 4 hurricanes in a matter of weeks and now an almost Cat-5 hurricane? How much more beating can you Floridians take?

According to the Insurance Times that i get at work is that damage is expected to be between $3bn and $6bn (£1.7bn & £3.4bn)
