Judgment Day (not Armageddon)

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Judgment Day (not Armageddon)

Ok, some might see this topic as kind of pointless, but what the heck?

Ok, here you can pick a game(any electronic game) and give it a score from 1-10. lets say you can't decide on eather an 8 or a 9, then just give it an 8.5.
And please, after you give the name of the game, list 5 pros and cons (5 being the most) about the game, then your overall score. And last but not least, please judge only one game per post. See my exaple below.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

+ Great graphics and cenimatics.
+ Very mature story.
+ Multiple paths through each stage.
+ Good audio and voice acting.
+ Great online play as Shadownet or Mercinary.

- Very linniar missions.
- Sometimes you might feel just a little cheated(The AI might see you when you think they wern't supposed to be able to)
- Short story mode(only 7 missions.)

Overall score: 9.5 out of 10

some may see this as just another spamfest, but this could save some people money in the long run. Because they will know what games to buy and what not.

Starlancer (space flight sim):

+ the actual simulation engine's really awesome. the powerball? the realistic number of guns.

+ i liked the graphics, the rendering.

+ storyline was great, if a bit old.

+ very good challenges. i.e. really tests how you manage your seconds (nanoseconds) per kill ratio.

+ i liked the medal giving, the promotion stuff, the info about ships and stuff are also very detailed.

- missiles do next to no damage if they're fired by the AI at you, but do normal damage in any other situation, eg, when you fire, when they fire at other AI.

- variety of missions are a bit narrow, some too frequent, like hunting torps in very limited time across very vast regions of space.

- not very interactive in the storyline. i.e, you can't choose paths. but you can only expect so much when they only have so much to work with.

overall? i'd give it a 8.5

EDIT: i think we should also put game genre.

+ I can't find anything I like about this game.

- Graphics are not good at all.
- Almost no story what so ever.
- All you do is run around and ocassionaly fight thugs.
- This game was so boring, it actually put me to sleep!
- Fighting system is unberable.

Overall score: I'm a huge fan of the TV series, and this is the biggest let- down I have ever seen. I want to give this game a zero but I can't, so my overall score is 0.5/10

I can agree to both Goldeneye and Deus Ex. Both are sooooooooo good.

Now, we've had FFVII, how about FFVIII (8)

+ Great storyline
+ A good, big world
+ Fantastic music
+ superb renders
+ nice character (can't remember the word. The inner thingies, er...)
+ Alot to explore
+ Huge variaty of monsters, locations, little secrets
+ You gotta be careful what you do if you want certain GFs

- The graphics are a bit out of date for the character models ingame, but except for that, I can't think of anything.

Oh and, I don't believe in a 10/10, so I'll give it a GRAND....
9.6/10
Thats still good

And to the Goldeneye peeps like me, Slow animation rules

Bridge Commander had JUST entered my thoughts about one second before I saw that review. I've played that game so damned much.

+ Good storyline, episode material.
+ Nice graphics, with lots of room for improvement.
+ MASSIVE mod base.
+ Simple to learn (if you think it's complicated, try playing Klingon Academy!)
+ Snazzy bridges.

- Multiplayer was rushed, and is not stable. Contains a memory leak that forces you to quit and rejoin or crash the game, as well as a few other bugs.
- EVERYONE online uses a Sovereign. Sometimes you'll see the odd Hybrid or Heavy Cruiser. Boring!
- Campaign way too easy.

Overall: 9/10. MP needed more work, and I'd REEEALY like a server manager program like Ioncross, but it has given me countless hours of enjoyment.

Metal Slug 3 (PS2, Xbox)

+ Fun to play.

- Too Expensive! 40 dollars!
- Too short, only five missions.
- The Xbox Live just sucks.
- Very difficult.
- This game is four years old, no changes have been made but it has just been released on the modern consoles. WTF? that was kind of pointless

Overall score: Metal Slug 3, gets the 3.
