Frequent breaks, as in if you yawn, get up and walk around for a few minuets and then come back to the work. as far as music, there is some livly clasical, 1812 overture, william tell, Shuberts unfinished, Water music.

you want me to study a minute, then walk around for a couple and then study a min again?
Ya I think we got that classicals, as well as Bizet and Mozart which can also be lively, I love classical

Actually, studies proved that the most effective revision time is early morning (like 9am to mid-day), and no longer than 20 minutes before a break.

They recommended a 5 min break every 20mins, and at teh end of the hour a test to see how you have done. It sounds strange, but its true. Also - its been proven that listening to Motzart for ten mintues before an exam improved scores on tests (not by a vast amount - but enough to notice).

Also - eating fish and other "brain" foods really does work, and leads to longer retention of information, as well as higher levels of absorbance.

Its not all healthy though, a recent study showed that people who drank 2 pints of beer a day managed to outshine those tee-totallers and light drinkers in both mathematical and grammatical tests.

Overall - eat fish, drink like a fish, and listen to motzart in the breaks between your 20min power revision sessions.

YOu guys are all telling me stuff I know and have tried before
The problem is not in the studying its in being not too tired to study

Post Mon Aug 16, 2004 1:34 am

there is of course the really obvious one....

....sleep guaranteed to make you less tired (as long as you have between 7 and 9 hours and no more)

Post Mon Aug 16, 2004 4:41 am

How many hours of sleep are you getting each night? And what kind of sleep is it? Fitful? Uninterrupted?

Average person does best with 8 hours of sleep each night although there is great
variety among individuals as to what actually works best.

If you cannot take power naps, you have to work on maximizing nighttime sleep.
Rather than working on staying awake while you are studying, try the opposite approach.

Work on getting to bed at a good hour and creating an environment for yourself so that you can get a good solid night's sleep.

Getting a max of 8 hours a sleep during the week, never less than 6, w/e about the same, maybe 9 to 10 hours, sleep well most of the time, just dream a lot

Hmmm. 17 year old female. Sleeping 8+ hours. Still feeling tired.

You're going through one last physical/bodily growth/change spurt?

You got me. Then again boredom does make you feel tired.

Post Wed Aug 18, 2004 11:05 am

The only way I can grow now is horizontally and that can't happen now since I got a dress to fit into
And I'm only bored in class, and its not just then when I'm tired.
But ow well I guess I'll get some more vitamin stuff to drink and stuff like that, only got to be awake till end of Nov
