it might have been incompatibility with the slot. A 4X/8X slot won't necessarily accept a 2X/4X card even if it fits. My Radeon hated my old moby for that very reason, I had to dupe my hardware into thinking it was 4X, not 8X, but my new moby (MSi) lurvs my Radeon.

How can I find out what my MB handles? The documentation does not say, and I haven't got the belar? program back on yet to find out.

should be in your documentation for sure. if not or you just can't find it, check the online manual and docu on your mb manuf site.

The card itself is a 4X/8X, so the slot may be 2X/4X only. I looked at the other cards at the store, they are the 9200, and PNY card, and the 5200 nivid card and I do recall you saying the 5200 wasn't worth it. I have the 420 now, so I may think about the PNY card, also Nivid and go with it. I'm not after blazing speed, just the ability to run the games I have.
