Back to the planet, does anyone know the best colors of paper/pinhole to use to set up the safe way to view this thing? We are suppose to be sunny at work, so I will take a gander at it.

Final - I do not recall that the colour makes any difference, but I would imagine that a neutral or light colour such as white would be useful, as it would reflect more light than a darker colour.

Edit: HERE is some safety information for protecting your eyes during the spectacle. Just thought that it might come in handy.

don't look at it FD! don't let irresponsible Esquilax encourage you to burn your retinas out, just look away! it's not worth seeing anyway, so why frazz your already failing eyes? Come and read some obituaries with me, we can laugh at all the dead people we're older than.

..sweetness, sweetness, I was only joking when I said by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed..

I was't palnning to look direct, that was why I asked about the paper and pin hole method, reflection type.

*ahem* I didn't want to point it out but don't you think a great big bloke like you will look a bit silly pratting about with a couple of bits of card in the car-park? why not just watch it on telly and save the effort of buggering about? it's never worth it anyway, all these celestial events are usually toss.

gosh can i get any more negative?

Ahh ya whimp, I once took a pair of binoculars and stared at the sun for over an hour. It didn't do me any harm. Go on 'ave a look.

Catching it on the "telly" is ok, but seeing something yourself is more fun. Mustang, no thanks, near went blind as a kid looking at it, tring to out stare it.

*Shakes head* Staring that the sun... kids . Taw, remember that the EMR from your television is probably just as harmful that staring at the sun in the long run .

29 degrees tomorrow, now which one of you broke the weather? eh?

Post Mon Jun 07, 2004 3:25 pm

They are saying tomorow, in Ga., to look in the early am to see it. If so, some extra heavy shades should work, that or, some welding goggles. Now that would work as they protect from arc weilding.

ff, how does 29c relate to 85f? That's what it will be here.
