What do you rank as most important in a game?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I would make three main categories and rank them in this order.

1. Technical
2. Play
3. Artistic

Technical would include controls, bugs, loading times, ability to save or restart

Play would include story, replay, is the game fun, is the game annoying

Artistic would include graphics, sound, atmosphere

The reason I rank Technical first is because no matter how good the rest of the game is, if there are technical problems it will suck. What good is a totally immersive world with a killer storyline if you can't work the interface? The same with Play, it doesn't matter how good a game looks if it isn't worth playing. The artistic category is often where a good game becomes great, but no amount of success in the Artistic category can make up for failure in the other two.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

I would list playability, storyline, and sound, but am not sure of the order - at least the first two are of equal importance to me.

An idea came to my head and is now desperately searching for brain

Here's my list, from most important to least.

-Story is most important, as if it doesn't have a good plot, I don't want it, even for a strategy game (Homeworld, anyone?)
-Sound. I can get hooked on a game with sad graphics if the music rules.
-Graphics. A good story can save bad graphics, but bad graphics can kill a mediocre story.
-Technical stuff next, like saving, ease of controls, all that.
-Replayability is way down here. I really don't care if I'll never pick it up again, as long as it's a wild ride the first time.
-Multiplayer last. I'm a single-player person, and I really don't give a care if I can play multi in it or not.

Do as you wish; I will not give up.
