ROTK
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

So, how many other LOTR fans out there are wildly excited today?
topher -- I know what you mean (I have the extended edition of the first & second) but I bought the theatrical edition of the third (instead of renting it) since they released it so much sooner. I'll sell it on eBay and get the extended when it comes out.
Finalday -- there's a link with a picture of Jackson at the bottom of this page:

Heltak -- hey, I've got some complaints with the movies, but think about the vast percentage that they did right on the movie. On such a huge undertaking, they're bound to have some things not quite as good (kind of applies to Freelancer a little bit, doesn't it?)

I've heard a rumour that the publishing rights or whatever they are expire in
two years and he might be making that movie when hes done with king kong.
If thats the case i'll be one of the first to line up outside his studio when hes
looking for extras

I'm also waiting for the Special Edition, but I'm kind of afraid it might throw off the emotional impact that the original edition had. Sounds kinda silly, but at the end of The Return of the King, I was in tears at the end, when Elrond, Galadriel, Celeborn, Frodo and Gandalf got on the ship that would take them to Valinor. That was a very emotional moment. Very few movies have me in tears by the end. These movies are Peter Jackson's legacy. I don't think he'll be known for much of anything else.
