Customers to pay MS''s legal bills?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Its pretty sad that a man as powerful as good ole gates has to push off his leagal bill on to us. It is not our fault he tried to monopolize the computer market and basically make him the 'GOD" of the OS but hey i guess he is afraid to loose the money he made while taking a piss lol

i mean seriously he makes probobly about what 100 bucks every minute right so if he took a dump average 20 minutes if ya got a good article in the paper he made 2000 bucks just pooping

but yet he wants to pass on his legal bills to us the people WHO made him what he is today....but oh well i guess thats big buisness for ya gotta line their pockets with gold and screw the working man. Can't gripe too much since i use his products on a daily basis.

still though it sux that he has to pass his legal crap on us

Some monies within companies is set for lrgal aspects. My auto insurance company for one. I was involved in an accident and was sued over it. the insurance company provided a lawer for my defence and did such a good jog, the plantif only recieved $2,750 instead of the $46,000 he wanted. My premiums pay for part of this to occure, and to me, it is worth it.

Bah! What are you all complaining about? Only 2% of the people who post here on TLR actually buy legitimate copies of MS products anyway .

Post Thu May 27, 2004 6:26 am

In this specific news topic, I very unwillingly feel the need to side with MS.

*ducks to avoid lightning*

This is because the lawyers who sued MS really are the only ones making out on this deal. These same lawyers are the ones to started the law suit for the benefit of the consumers and yet, really, it was so that they themselves would get filthy rich from the fees. What MS is saying is, OK, you get this one but we'll just have to charge your clients, the consumers, for the cost of your work at these ridiculous rates, $3,000/hr. I am still choking over that!

Well I was generous, because I didn't think that anything would be gained by being conservative, Taw .

This is nothing new. Every time some boob sues a company and gets $10 million in punative damages the consumers have to foot the bill. Do you expect the CEO of a company to take a hit, or the shareholders? Punative damages are supposed to punish companies, but they really punish consumers, unless the company goes out of business and then the employees are punished. This is a serious problem in our sue-happy society. Everything we buy would be a lot cheaper if we had a punative damage cap. But don't expect to see it happen any time soon because congress is populated by a bunch of lawyers.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!
