jl-design - a new comic strip by me

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@Vi, keep using words like "shonky" and I'll really get into it. Silly words are rather humorous, IMO.

Sir Spectre giving the Spammysburg Address on 5/13/2004 22:21 PST:

12 posts and 2 days ago, we brought forth on this forum a new direction, conceived in spam and dedicated to the preposition that all posts are created useless. Now we are engaged in a great civil disobedience testing whether that thread or any thread so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great forum of that nonsense. We have come to dedicate a portion of that forum as a final resting-place for those topics that gave of their importance that spam might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this ... blah blah blah, spam spam spam.

@wolfy: what exactly is wrong with erin?

@SirS: ill keep that in mind. hehe, shonky. anyhoo... the three guys actually arnt the same person, but they're -inspired- by the three parts of me. hope that clears it up.

just a quick question, who would actually like to see the original sketched versions of jl-design?

Erin is inspired by a girl at my school. all the characters in the strip are based on people in my life. anyway wolfy, you havent told me exactly what is wrong with her.

haha, thats a good one

erin just looks odd....i just cant place why...just odd

Post Fri May 14, 2004 2:04 pm

Well Vi, It does look nice, your Characters have a bit of a manga style drawing to them with them eyes, They are huge,

and please, don't give him that crap, there are comix out there that don't need facial expressions, if he is going a tad "expressionistic", he can show the emotions around the head, like many Anime/Online Manga Child series often do, exaggurated expressions around the face.

locutus my man, there is subtle emotions in my characters, i just havent started to do that yet. (except maybe in alex in strip 2)

i still want to know whats funny about erin. if anyone can back up wolfy's claim, please do so.

im going to say a few things,
a)i hate scrolling across,
b) go down not across! (for reason above),
c)webpage would be nice to have

I am a addicted to Eve Online! Are you?

Post Sun May 16, 2004 1:54 am

@danclark: theres a few reasons for the way its set out.

1 - across, not up and down: its easier to put the strip together this way.
2 - website: im working on that.

other than that, what did you think of the actual strip?

but a computer screen's resolution is wider downwards, than across, lot of other comics like ctrlaltdel-online.com use up down aproach.

but other than that more emotions and make them more 3d'ish.
