Looking for a Font

I guess he was talking about this -
remember to restart PS when you install new fonts, its the only way to be sure.
but why? who knows.

I presumed that you were using PS when you said...

i downloaded some fonts, stuck them into the fonts folder, and i cant select them, why?


you have to restart every program that you want to use your new fonts in, for them to be 100% recognisable. If you install them the proper way, and they are legitimate fonts, then restart whatever program you want to use them in, they will work.
